“Pub Food with a Twist”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

One thing I loved about Canterbury was the tons of restaurants with a quintessential English Pub on every corner. The Dolphin was one of these pubs and quite popular I would assume by the crowd that was there the nite we dined. We ordered 2 steaks that were 29 pounds for both, but besides your typical pub food they also served dishes such as calamari, guacamole, brie and some really interesting baguettes. The food was hearty and tasty. The boys enjoyed the selection of beers.

Not sure how old the building was but it is located on St. Radigunds Street, not far from the Parrot so I would surmise it is not one of the newer builds. If you are looking for a truly English experience this is your place.

Came here for a lush sunday roast with friends for the first time, and I was very impressed.
Really great price for the amount of food and quality of food you get. Staff are very friendly and very efficient. Perfect place to hang on a rainy sunday afternoon. Reccommended for all.

“Consistently excellent”

We are regular customers at the Dolphin, and are always pleased with the food, service and atmosphere.

For high end pub grub, it's the best we have found in Canterbury.

“Food and sun”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

The Dolphin hit the ground running when it opened a few years ago and hasn't looked back since. The combination of vintage styling and traditional pub atmosphere are unique in Canterbury. This is show by the unrivalled popularity amongst the bürgers of the city.

The food is of excellent quality and plenteous and the selection of beverages is varied and ever changing. The main draw is the beer garden in the summer. In addition look out for the charismatic proprietor with his dogs in tow: he has so far done a fantastic job.

“having a laugh”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

Ordered the home made cottage pie and asked for peas, only to be told we don't have peas, the most common veg in the country. So it came after a fifty minute wait with carrots and cabbage which were awful. The pie however had peas in it so is not homemade as stated. This had been microwaved to an inch of its life ,and took thirty minutes to cool enough to eat. Not a nice experience . would not go back.
