Been several times with and without the kids. It's one of our favourite places. Loads of choice from Indian to Chinese and some more plain bits that younger kids will eat like chips and pizza. Salad, sushi . . . . then there's noodle dishes and nan breads cooked to order. Ice cream machine for afters

Only gripe is price of drinks - £2.50 for a coke that is not refillable.

Staff always attentive and polite.

Went at the weekend for mothers day with the kids, and going again Wednesday for mother in laws birthday!!!! Yummy!!!!

Had lunch in ChomChom Canterbury for the fourth or fifth time. As ever, staff were efficient and fairly friendly, while food was hot, plentiful and varied. ChomChom doesn't pretend to be a gastronomic paradise; it offers tasty well-cooked food in great profusion - and at a value-for-money price! Not somewhere I'd choose to go every day, or even week. But for an occasional session of over-indulgence ..... it's unsurpassed!

Having read the somewhat mixed reviews on Trip Adviser, we decided to try Chom Chom ourselves for Sunday lunch.

The restaurant is clean and modern with easy listening pop music playing.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. We were asked if it was our first visit and “the system” was explained to us. During our meal there were a couple of items we weren’t familiar with and the staff explained them very well.

There aren’t a huge number of dishes in each section, but there are more sections (cold starters/hot starters/salads/hot mains/noodle bar/roast/desserts) than usual at a buffet so there was a lot of choice. The dishes range from Chinese to Indian to Thai to English, so something for everyone. All the food we chose was good and we ran out of appetite before we ran out of dishes we wanted to try – always the sign of a good buffet.

I thought the food was a bargain (£10.95 per head for lunch) though the drinks were a little pricey – common in places where the food is good value – but not excessive for a city-centre eatery.

We have booked to take a friend there next Saturday evening – the best recommendation possible.

Reviews here seemed mixed but we had a great experience in every respect. Welcoming staff anxious to make sure that newcomers understand all the choices available. The salad bar was excellent, a couple of hot choices each from Indian, Thai and Chinese styles (even a roast as it was Sunday), a noodle bar and a choice of desserts including soft ice cream. What's not to like! We both left looking forward to more things we wanted to try on the next visit.

ChomChom is a good example of a buffet 'eat all you want' at a set price type of eatery. The staff are efficient but show little warmth so don't expect anything other than a perfunctory welcome. The restaurant is of a moderate size with practical rather than aesthetic decor.
Once shown to your table you first have a choice of starters ranging from healthy salad dishes to deep fried 'stuff'. It's your choice so you can pick and mix.
The mains offer a choice of Indian, Chinese and Thai style dishes - roughly two or three of each - plus a couple of rices. In addition there is a noodle bar where you can choose from a selection of toppings plus sauces.
The deserts look better than they taste, although there is always 'ice cream' of the "Mr Whippy" variety.
So, in conclusion, it's ok comfort food at a reasonable price in a rather busy environment. Would I go again? Not sure I'd choose to go but if someone I was with wanted to go I'd probably tag along.
