“Good view”

Lovely surroundings but always full of students from local University making a mess and a noise. Great location, next to the bus station and Whitefriars shopping

“Lovely at first glance”

Beautiful gardens, Toddlers cove park at the end - good for children. You can join the cycle path here which is nice. A favourite spot for drunk people which can be intimidating for youngsters...

“Picturesque thoroughfare”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

Dane John is not the most friendly of parks in Canterbury as some of the regulars in the area are somewhat undesirable. It is however a great space, overlooked by some lovely houses. Once a year it is also transformed when it hosts the Canterbury food festival, an event which is growing in stature and quality each time.

“Passing Through”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

This is not a park we make a special trip to go to, but each time we go to Canterbury we walk through this park from the station to the town. It's a very pleasant part of our visit, and it's nice to see families and groups of students sitting on the grass on a sunny day.

I also like the fountain in this park - reminds me of a teacup.

If you are out with your family and are looking for a picnic spot in Canterbury, this is a good choice

“Interesting Park”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

Not the largest, but plenty of interest in it. For me, the focal point is not the mound (although of great interest), it's the monument to men of Kent Regiments in the Boer War. I've never seen a war memorial before that has broken down the deaths - killed in action or died from disease. It brings home that fighting in wars isn't the only killer....
