I live only a few miles away and have never been on a river tour. In the main street 2 companies were touting for business. We played one off against each other and got the price down. I'm so pleased that the Canterbury Punting Company gave the best price. It is a little hard to find but it was worth the walk down the back street. Polite, welcoming, informative and witty to boot. We had 2 people with slight joint problems and they were very helpful. We only went on it as we had a cousin over from Australia, I am so please we went as this was the most enjoyable and relaxing part of the whole week. Well done Canterbury Punting Company, I will be going on it again. I can imagine it would be very romantic with just 2

As one of my birthday treats we took a punt ride along the river from the Westgate Tower. Although the river runs along side the very busy gardens you reach a point where there are no sounds just the water, birds and any questions we asked answered. It was 45mins of pure escapism and the sunshine and damselflies just made it perfect.

We have visited Canterbury before but never been on the river, we are so glad we did this trip, it was so relaxing. Our punt only had 6 passengers on so we could all stretch out and relax, It was a little scary going under the very low bridges with all the cobwebs underneath but how often do you get the chance to see things like that close up? Our guide Andrew was very informative and attentive making sure we kept our elbows out of the way when necessary. This was an excellent trip, the next time we go to Canterbury we will do a punting trip again perhaps doing it the other way out into the countryside.

We had a tour on a rainy day with family, we were given plenty of blankets and hot water bottles to snuggle underneath. They were incredibly helpful, we organised this very late (about 2 hours before) and they stayed open later than advertised for us. It was a great tour along a small stretch of the Stour with so many interesting facts (that I had never heard despite growing up there). It gives you a completely different perspective. We would love to come again, and want to try going upstream with a nice picnic as they suggested. I cannot emphasise how helpful and welcoming they are!

I was visiting Canterbury from Australia and took this tour with family. It was raining before we set out and we considered cancelling. However, we were given extra blankets and plenty of hot water bottles for the trip ahead. Ian was an excellent guide and the tour gave us a different perspective of Canterbury. We will return and go upriver with a picnic as Ian suggested.
