I stayed at the Kings Head for a night in October. The owners and bar staff are all very welcoming, as are the locals in the bar. The room and bathroom were squeaky clean and well equipped - tea, coffee, hot chocolate, extra blankets and pillows and handy extras in the bathroom for anything you may have forgotten. The bathroom was small but perfectly formed with a good shower. TV in the room had an inbuilt DVD player and multiple channels (either Freeview or FreeSat), there was a sign for free wi-fi although I didn't actually use it. I had both an evening meal and breakfast which were both very tasty with good portion sizes, there's a form in your room for breakfast which you complete with your choices and what time you'd like to have breakfast which is great if you need to leave by a certain time. There is onsite parking for a couple of cars although there's a pay and display 30 seconds down the road. If I'm ever in the area again I'll be staying at the Kings Head.

The booking was easy and the people who run The Kings Head are friendly and welcoming and kind. I would stay here again.

Pros - off road parking, friendly people, OK value for money, lots of tea / coffee / biscuits in room, nice decoration and accessories, nice breakfast with lots of choices, nice plump pillows on the bed, fast service at breakfast and check out, the rooms and bathroom were very clean, there were complimentary soaps etc in the bathroom.

Cons - breakfast room was quite cold to sit and eat in; you had to select your breakfast the night before so there was less option for spontaneous choice; the room was noisy - you could hear the bar below which kept us awake until after closing time; the bed was quite small; the shower room was TINY and if you are over 5 foot 8 you would struggle to use it;

The couple had a pet cat who was pottering about (which we don't mind) but there was bowls of cat food set out in the breakfast room which could put some people off.

Good atmosphere, clean and comfortable, excellent food, relaxed and good value. With the help of Tripadviser I have found some good places, but this is a gem. Owners and staff who care about people but don't invade their space. A small b&b and full of character. I was here for a week and, with the added bonus of excellent public transport, had a great time. Only 10/15 minutes walk to Canterbury East Station, the bus station and the city walls.

Stayed for a short break at the hotel,it's location is a little walling distance from Canterbury town centre but this gives you more chances to see stuff and there's a bus stop just along from the pub.
Found the atmosphere to be quite nice and the rooms although small are cosy and bathroom is very modern.
The food is excellent and you'll find the pub does get quite busy I personally ate at the place every evening mainly because the food was excellent,breakfast as well was fantastic and the owners are friendly you feel like you are staying with family ....all in all I'd recommend to anyone who's looking for a cheaper option and doesn't mind a short walk to the city centre

A top value place to stay when visiting Canterbury. Located only 15 minutes walk from the town centre and bus station, this B&B offers great value for money.

My room, at the back of the pub, was clean and well set up, with a good selection of complimentary toiletries, a generous hospitality tray, hairdrier, clock radio and TV/DVD player with Freesat. The room had a very clean and modern, but extremely tiny, ensuite.

I also ate dinner in the pub itself. Very decent size portions, tasty food at a very reasonable price. Breakfast was great too.

The hosts, Ena and Mike were very hospitable as was Milly the cat!
