The Military canal path is great for cycling, (and walking). We have made use of it a number of times. (Most recently at the May half term.) We camp at a site on Romney Marsh and then have taken journeys of various distances. From the campsite we have picked up the path at Aldergate Road and then followed it along the bottom of Port Lympne Animal Park and into Hythe and continued up to the sea front - having stopped for fish and chips at the excellent cafe /take away in Park Road. If we have our 8 and 7 year old grandchildren with us, we quite often park at the bottom of Lympne Hill and cycle into Hythe from there.
Another time you can continue along the sea front till you meet the beginning of the canal (at the junction with Seabrook Road) and then cycle back along the canal path away from the sea front and along by the golf course.
If you are feeling really energetic you can cycle all the way into Folkestone along the sea wall, only a few hundred metres are on the road and most people cycle on the pavement at that point.
It is a nice safe flat path that makes cycling fun for all the family.
