My friends and I spent 2 nights at Westcourt farm. The owner lady was very kind, friendly, and helpful. The rooms were amazingly beautiful and clean. There were cakes and chocolate in each room too! woohoo!! There were many selections of breakfast we can choose from. Each room has a tv with DVD player and the owner has lots of DVD for use to choose from. The house is very beautiful with full of characters. We really enjoyed our stays. Thank you so much.

Room Tip: We were a group of 4, we stayed in a room with 3 single-beds and a double bed room with 1 single bed...

My wife and I stayed at Westcourt Farm for the first time in 2001 and returned this summer for five nights after too long away. This time we were accompanied by our seven year old daughter.

We love this place. Julie is extremely welcoming and friendly and produces top-notch breakfasts! Our daughter loved it too and was thrilled to return to the room each day to discover what kind of homemade cake had been left for us. The rooms are in keeping with the house and you can almost feel the history seeping out from every corner of the building.

Thanks for an excellent stay - I'm sorry it took so long to write a review - we will not be leaving it another ten years before we return again.

We arrived at this lovely character B&B having not booked in advance. Despite the owners just returning from a family day out, Julie was welcoming and had a nice cosy farmhouse bedroom waiting. A very short walk away is a lovely village pub where we had dinner that night. Breakfast the following morning was the best of four B&Bs we stayed at during our break on the IOW with an excellent full English, nice fruit salad, choice of cereals and a selection of jams, honey and marmalades to choose from. We would gladly stay here again.

We've just returned from a relaxing stay at the Cart House self-catering cottage at Westcourt Farm. We'd love to recommend it enthusiastically, but we're tempted to keep this little secret to ourselves. However, if you do go to the IoW and want to escape the crowds, Westcourt Farm is the place to stay, either in the Cart House or at their B&B. West Wight is the prettiest part of the island, and if you sit quietly on a hillside near Freshwater you might hear the ghostly echo of the 1970 IoW festival on the breeze, but you won't hear anything else.

My partner and I spent five days at Westcourt Farm and enjoyed every minute of it. Our hostess, Julie, was welcoming , charming and helpful, and produced the most beautiful breakfasts including fresh-laid eggs. home-made jams and marmalades. Our bedroom was spacious and the bed really comfortable. We revelled in the fact that it was in one of the oldest parts of the house which is over 400 years old; indeed one of the windowsills bore the inscription "1697"!! Westcourt farm is in a lovely unspoilt village of great age but very well located for seeing the sights of the island and only a short drive from some lovely beaches. We had the most marvellous hot and sunny weather throughout the whole of our stay which was the icing on the cake. On our last day, Easter Sunday, we lunched at the Liitle Gloster restaurant in Gurnard, near Cowes, which is highly recommended in Trip advisor. On a gloriously sunnny day, the view over the Solent from the garden terrace was incomparable and the food and service first class. All in all, a memorable Easter break.

We arrived earlier than expected and was met by Connor, who is the owner’s young son. We could not have been made more welcome and he gave us all the information we needed to know. The Farm house is old so don’t expect a modern establishment. What you will get is a place to stay full of old charm and character. Very nice, friendly people and a very relaxing stay. Wonderful cake on arrival with a very well thought out tray of hot drinks for your room. Breakfast was lovely with very local fresh produce. Also very accommodating to dietary needs…..thank you. We went to the local pub on both evenings as it’s so close, The Crown is a nice place to eat but gets busy so you may need to book and it’s not quick service. Saying that what you do get is well cooked fresh food that tastes good. Julie booked our ferry which got us a good deal, took about 35 minutes from Yarmouth to get to Shorwell. To sum up you will get a warm welcome from the family in a home full of charm and character….we came away from our 2 night stay felling we had had a good weekend away and would definitely stay again

We've just returned from a very relaxing weekend break at Westcourt Farm, Shorwell, Isle of Wight. The hostess Julie Russell and her family are very welcoming when you arrive at their 17th century farmhouse.
The bedrooms are extremely comfortable and homemade cakes await your arrival - delicious. Children are welcome to watch the lambing or witness a calf being born at this working farm. The full english breakfast includes tasty free range eggs from Julie's 9yr old son Connor's chickens. As well as the B&B you can stay at the converted Cart House or in part of the historic farmhouse as self caterers.
We walked the hills of the farm and could see the english channel from the top. There were plenty of nice pubs for lunch.
Julie even booked our Wightlink ferry ticket which was cheaper than us doing it ourselves. We just felt like one of the family and will definitely be going back.
If you feel like getting away from it all (as we did) this is the place to go.
