Description: Our beautiful orangery-style Lake Restaurant offers amazing views overlooking our fabulous garden and lake. Two rosette dining at it's best. Offering a range of award winning modern British cuisine to suit all tastes, diners can choose from an A La Carte or Lake menu. The latter provides brasserie-style seasonal food, changed on a fortnightly basis from only £18 for two or £22 for three courses. A wonderful place to celebrate and very popular for Sunday lunch. Great to relax and enjoy a delicious meal with probably the best views and location in Hertfordshire. The Lake Restaurant opens daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Otherwise try a bar snack or one of our famous Afternoon teas in the hotel lounge.

“flowless afternoon tea”
Reviewed June 5, 2014

we were celebrating our anniversary with the whole family also some coming from LA and in Hotel business.
We were disappointed from the quality and quantity of the sandwiches and the tiny pieces of cakes as well as from the simple tips of Tea served with tea begs in pots . Regular teabags of well known common Tea company.

“Lovely setting, delicious food, Average tea (NOT loose leaf)”
Reviewed June 5, 2014

Took my Mum here shortly after Mothers Day for afternoon tea. The setting is lovely- comfy chairs, fresh flowers, views of the garden. The sandwiches, patisserie and scones were delicious and the service was great. I reserved online via email and the responses were always fast and very polite.

Negatives- we were very disappointed that the tea was not loose leaf. It was simply tea bags in a regular teapot, which is hugely disappointing when you pay a fair amount for afternoon tea. One of the main things I would expect from an afternoon tea is that it's better than what I would have at home, so it's a treat. We were also left to pour it ourselves so it didn't feel as special as other places we have been (I would recommend Luton Hoo), though this isn't a big deal.

Please start using loose leaf tea as I would love to come back but can't swallow the price for simple tea bags in quite inelegant coloured teapots!
