Description: Our beautiful orangery-style Lake Restaurant offers amazing views overlooking our fabulous garden and lake. Two rosette dining at it's best. Offering a range of award winning modern British cuisine to suit all tastes, diners can choose from an A La Carte or Lake menu. The latter provides brasserie-style seasonal food, changed on a fortnightly basis from only £18 for two or £22 for three courses. A wonderful place to celebrate and very popular for Sunday lunch. Great to relax and enjoy a delicious meal with probably the best views and location in Hertfordshire. The Lake Restaurant opens daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Otherwise try a bar snack or one of our famous Afternoon teas in the hotel lounge.

Had a lovely meal today at St Michaels Manor. As usual service and staff were exceptional. Biggest disappointment was the decor in the restaurant. We hadn't visited for some time. It is a georgian manor house that had a lovely georgian feel. The restaurant has been redecorated to give off some kind of chic boutique feel. Grey, bland and dismal with dirty looking carpet and oil paintings of the cathedral to match, appearing to have been painted in a grey fog. Sometimes we try too hard to fix it when it isn't broken. Top notch meal and service but get the designers back to put the restaurant back in tact.

We had our staff Christmas lunch here and the food was excellent, the staff were very friendly and courteous and I would recommend the restaurant for a welcoming meal anytime. Also after leaving the restaurant and travelling up to Birmingham I discovered my wallet was not with me, I called the restaurant who found the wallet and were very helpful, very much appreciated cannot thank the staff enough.

St Michael's Manor is an oasis of peace and quiet close to the bussle of St Albans. Service, food quality and décor all excellent - even more so after a recent major refurbishment. A great place for relaxing over a long Sunday lunch.

Lovely location, beautiful hotel - we were there for a wedding - veggie food options were pretty disappointing and I think it's probably rather overpriced for that - bar also very expensive and not a great selection of wines. But good service and very friendly staff.
