I was happy with my stay very peacful and had a good rest, however the parking was very poor their is limited space and three of the nine cars were so inconsideratly parked they took up two spaces. I am also a blue badge owner and the disabled bays were filled with cars displaying no blue badge i mentioned it to the very helpful receptionist and she advised that she would try and 'sought it out' but it wasnt resolved by the time we checked out.
I had to park in the pub car park and it was pouring with rain so we both got very very wet walking from the pub car park to the reception if there would of been spaces (either normal or disabled) availible in the car park this wouldnt of happened. I dont want this to detract from the lovley setting helpful staff and peacful area the pub grub was also very agreeable. Shame about the inconsiderate Bustards in the car tho....

Room Tip: First floor rooms in the annexe are very qiute

We regularly stay at Premier Inn, but was very disappointed with this one. Not their usual standard at all. Breakfast was extremely disappointing, cold coffee and poor quality food. The restaurant was filthy, I was a bit worried when we had gone in for a drink the night before but hoped that it would have been cleaned before morning. We were refunded for breakfast but Would not stay here again

A very different Premier Inn. Nestling on the banks of a duck filled mill stream, just a stone's throw from a busy main road but you would think you were in one of Constable's country idyls. Not at all what I expected and firmly on my list of favorite hotels. Even the adjacent Beefeater was a surprise with a live mill wheel turning in the heart of the restaurant and all the cogs and wheels are preserved at the various levels of what was once a major flour mill. Perfectly charming.

I am a vegetarian so a Beefeater would not normally be my first choice and the menu was limited. However, in spite of the limited menu, I enjoyed my meal.

Room Tip: There are a number of Premier Inns in the area but I am sure none come close to the charm of this on...

We stayed here for one night when we went to the Harry Potter Studios which were only 3 miles away and also to meet up with friends who lived not too far away. I would say it is probably one of the nicest we have stayed in. Situated in a nice rural setting with a with a millstream running under the mill. The room was very nice, we were at the back and could see the M25 but to be honest didn't get too much noise from it. The Beefeater that is alongside the hotel was very nice and served a nice breakfast. It is an interesting old building with a working watermill inside. Lovely setting for the height of the summer to maybe have a drink outside next to the millstream. The staff were very helpful and friendly. St Albans is not too far away. We would definately stay here again if we ever travel to the area again.

Received a warm welcome after a long drive from Scotland. Very pleasently surprised by the standard of accommodation in the family room provided. Bright, airy, clean and functional throughout. The Beefeater on site could have been a bit warmer and the selection of food a bit better but otherwise fine. Excellent value for money overall.

We arrived here after a lengthy drive on a lovely Saturday afternoon to be greeted by two receptionists chatting. When they finally stopped to look at us, the only comment was 'What's your name?' No interest in our proffered confirmation paperwork. One receptionist then left for the day so they said their goodbyes while we waited. The next comment was '£65' with an outstretched hand. No further conversation until we were handed our room card and information was given about the facilities etc. Apart from front office staff in dire need of training in manners and professional skills, there are major issues with WiFi here. We logged on briefly for several of our 'free' 30 mins. Although we only used 10 mins or so to check emails, the system would not let us use anymore time to send emails once we had written them, without paying for 24 hrs. A call to the front office found yet another staff member who was on his own - and he said it was his first shift! He tried to help but to no avail. However, upon going across the road to the restaurant and bar we found free WiFi!! All in all, a ridiculous situation. In 2012, in a hotel of this standard, WiFi should be easily available. We completed a hotel survey when sent to us, but after 2 weeks have had no feedback or comment from the hotel. These surveys take time but one wonders if they are only 'window dressing'.

Used this on our way to the Paralympics. Once we found it (the directions given on the booking confirmation do NOT work if coming from the north on the M1 - look out for a small right turn almost immediately on coming off the motorway or, like us, you'll end up going the wrong way on a dual carriageway for a long time) the location was very pleasant although there is significant noise from the M25 which is literally next door. Luckily our room was on the ground floor of the annex in shade so the heat mentioned by others wasn't a major issue. The pub appeared perfectly acceptable - no sign of the dirt mentioned by others and nice grounds apart from the M25 noise. The waterwheel is well worth seeing. Food is average Beefeater - the steaks were OK but the sauces were definitely mass-produced. We brought our own breakfast as we find them expensive in these chains. Above all, an easy journey into London the next morning. We would use it again but not in a hot summer!

Room Tip: Annex rooms seemed quieter and cooler than some in main hotel.
