“Adequate for our needs”

The apartment was ideally situated for getting around the city and having parking next to it was good, however the comments from the previous reviewer were correct. It wasn't beautifully refurbished and a lick of paint would not go a miss !The shower did not work very well at all, there was opened food in the cupboards and bedding and towels from previous people left on the top of the wardrobes. A lot of mildew and condensation which caused the curtains to be dirty. The curtains were hanging off the tracks. We did have a lovely time in St. Albans .Redbournbury mill is well worth a visit. We had a super meal at cafe rouge which is very near the apartment. Lots of lovely restaurants so near. The apartment did suit us as had my elderly parents with us, so it was nice that we could all be together and they could relax .

The flat is very well placed for visiting St Albans and Qadeer is very affable, letting us in to the flat early. However it was dirty and in need of redecoration and maintenance. There was opened food from previous visitors in the kitchen cupboards, we didn't need to cook there, luckily. The decoration is very tired, the bathroom extractor did not work so lots of mildew. If cleaned and redecorated this would be a very good rental.

Well placed for buses and walks in park and behind accommodation. May is a good time as the wildlife are nesting. Saw the geese and ducks hatch and leave the nests. Also herons and kingfishers. Not far from town. Ideal for Harry Potter and Butterfly World.

“Ideal for Harry Potter and London.”

We loved our 3 night stay here. Its in a great location,7 miles from Warner Bros studios(although our sat nav had a different idea about that),and about half an hour walk to the train station to go into London.
The apartment itself is lovely, very well appointed, comfortable and with an excellent wi-fi system.Forget previous comments about the pans, they have been replaced with brand new ones.If we ever visit St Albans(a lovely town itself by the way),we would definitely stay here again.

“Excellent location and apartment”
Reviewed September 10, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Thank you Qadeer.
We have thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The apartment is lovely, clean, modern decor with spacious rooms. Clean and quality linen was provided in bedrooms. The location is perfect in walking distance to High St. There is also a Sainsbury around the corner.
The only improvements I would make is to provide a set of new pots. Being a self catered apartment the cooking utensils are important. The pots were rusty and as such I could not cook using them. Also it would be good to have new towels as they were clean but old.
Putting these two things aside it is a lovely apartment and would still definitely recommend staying here. Thank you again.

“Well located, supportive owners”
Reviewed September 3, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

This is ideally located to explore Saint-Albans, especially the historical center. The apartment is comfortable, spacious and well maintained, with a lot of amenities. This is ideal for a short stay, especially if one eats out or ready-made food, take aways etc. (it would be nice to replace the cooking utensils, which have seen better days, while the appliances are quite OK). It is a ground floor apartment just back from the high street, so it's a bit noisy, but one can live with it. The owners are very responsive and nice people. The exact address is Apartment N°2.

“Good value option”
Reviewed July 8, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

A good value option for a family stay in St Albans.Owner's sister met us on arrival and explained what was what, were to put rubbish etc which was helpful. Hadnt realised there was no extra info in the flat at that stage or would have asked her more! .

Really appreciated the space - good size living/dining area, 2 double bedrooms, Sky TV/, Good wi fi which satisfied two teenagers (!) Roomy, dining table & chairs, fully equipped kitchen, washing machine etc.

Qadeer's sister told us helpfully that the supermarket was 5 mins walk away in one direction, and restaurants 5 mins in another direction, so well placed generally. In all, a great location.

But (hope this helps!) we rent apartments around London regularly, and suggest that there are a few extras which don't cost much, but would have made it perfect (much the same as the review from Heather K below!), and would encourage return stays ie

- enough towels for guests staying (providing 3 when you know there are going to be 4 guests seems rather mean).

- a hairdryer

- some info re local area ie maps, useful telephone numbers, nearest restaurants/gym etc.

- enough pillows for guests (dividing 6 pillows between 4 people wasnt fun!)

Finally, I'd say that a 'welcome pack' of eg a pint of milk, loaf of bread, , eggs and soft drinks goes a long way.....!

Hope that helps - sort these points, and we'll be back!
