“Inexpensive and very interesting, loads to see”
Reviewed November 1, 2013

This museum is right near the park which I previously wrote about, so must see both. A decent car park too.
The museum is well organised, easy access for buggies or wheelchairs, and children will find it interesting.
Lots of exhibits and a few short films which are well put together. There are several rooms dedicated to Roman way of life. Well maintained corpses still in coffins, really amazingly complete, and even a break down of the lifestyle and standing in the community of one of them. A specialist has rebuilt the face so you can see we the would have looked like!

“The Roman history of St Albans”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

This is a well created museum, with some interesting exhibits. There are several stunning mosaics that you must see. There are a couple of videos that add to the overall experience. Also look out for the second weekend of the month where a Roman soldier will give a first hand account of legions, armour and tactics.

“Informative”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

It is informative and interesting. Good to take your kids there. I happened to be there when a man dressed up as a roman soldier was explaining Roman warfare which was very helpful. Me and my husband liked it.

“Roman Verulamium”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

The museum stands on the edge of the ruins of Roman Verulamium. It has a visiting Roman Centurian who will enthrall visitors with what life was like in Roman Times. The museum is in easy walking distance of the town and the parkland next to the museum has examples of Roman buildings.
