“More attention to detail needed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012 via mobile

On arrival with my husband, a toddler, a newborn and our two friends we were seated quickly.

We ordered our food and drinks came promptly. When our food arrived we realised we didn't have any cutlery. I had to search for a server to get some. We also realised our table had no condiments and another table offered us theirs until we could ask our waitress for some. We also asked for Mayo and were told that there was none left. Really? At 1pm??

My husbands meal was supposed to come with a curry sauce which was absent from his plate, again we had to ask for this along with our absent extra portion of chips that we had ordered.

On the plus side the food was very nice.

“Attention to detail could have been better”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2012 via mobile

I often eat in Harvesters but have only been to this location once before.

We had a toddler with us and upon being seated you are normally given a child's menu and some colouring pencils which didn't happen.

Food was ordered and our portion of chips were forgotten as was a curry sauce that was supposed to be included with a meal. We then realised we had not been given enough cutlery.

There were no condiments on our table either and some other diners kindly passed theirs over. We also asked for some Mayo but apparently they had no more. Really? At 1pm??

The food was lovely though.

“We tried and tried”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2012

Because this Harvester is so close to where we live, we've tried and tried to make it work for us, but unfortunately we've had to admit defeat. We're sorry to have to find another regular weekly dinner venue, but it got to be too much with the amount of screaming children allowed to run amok, with the management doing absolutely nothing. The last time we visited, two girls aged around 12 were slinging ice cream and Coca cola at one another, while the mother chatted on a mobile phone. When they decided to invade the table beside us and include us in their little game, screaming all the while, I'd had enough! We now eat at the Harvester in Garston.

“disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2012

Have often visited this restaurant and found it pleasant ,reasonably priced and the service good, however I visited with friends recently and what a disappointment. We were seated quickly and our order taken for food and drinks. we were directed to the salad bar and our waitress disappeared without leaving us any cutlery. After searching I found another waitress who eventually found us some. When our food appeared mine (pasta) was warm and wet ( not properly drained) I had to ask twice for our drinks. On my visit to the toilet , I found that there was no soap but two washbasins were not available as they contained the bags for the soap dispensers. Have spoken to someone at the restaurant who blamed staff shortages ,school holidays ans Ramadan. So my advice is dont visit in the school holidays or Ramadan.

“Cheap & Cheerful”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2012

Been to the Harvester many times with the kids for both weekend brunch and evening meals, as long as you accept that it is not gourmet food but a cheap and cheerful meal with the family, then it is fine. In my experience, the staff have always been polite and pleasent if usually rushed!
