Enjoyed a lovely stay, very good spa nice pool area with sauna steam room. Comfortable loungers. The Brasserie had a good selection even helped with my food allergies. Room was spacious and a refurbished bathroom. Would recommend it to anyone who wants a good break with nice touches.

Easy check in, had an executive room and bed was very comfortable and room was lovely. Had treatments in the spa and they were very good. Spent most time in room relaxing. The only problem is the food is not good enough for the price you are paying in the restaurant and that's putting it nicely. I could go on for about 3 paragraphs on my how improvement they need on the food in general. I would go again but only eat in the brasserie.

Room Tip: Paying for an executive room is worth it.

Our short Xmas house party was more relaxing than a long holiday; food was perfect both for vegan and other diets we had a mixture in our party. The hotel was traditional warm in temperature and greeting, suitable entertainment aimed at all ages and well selected menus. We were delighted with the buffet afternoon tea which greeted us ( after the mince pie and sherry) a tradiitonal English tea with finger sandwiches , scones with cream and jam, selections of cakes, fruit ,, sweets ----- and more, carol singers of a very high standard in from the cathedral and a dinner dance and that was only Xmas Eve, the rest we will leave to your imagination. Oh and a lovely Xmas present in the room won't spoil the surprise in case you go.

My wife and I have stayed in many hotels and have yet found one to better our experience at Sopwell House.
Service was relaxed yet professional and attentive when required. The atmosphere was just right for a relaxing stay. The room we stayed in was a superior double which was modern,spacious and immaculately kept. The dinner and breakfast was also very good. We could not find any fault in our stay.

Went for New Years Eve 2013 with the family, booked into the brasserie for dinner and stayed overnight. The food and service in the brasserie was great, lovely staff who were on hand at any time and the food was great. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend a visit and would go again.
