We often stay here when we visit our grandchildren. The location in the middle of St Albans is excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful and always reserve us a spot in the disabled parking. The recent refurbishment has left the room and the breakfast area modern and attractive. As a full time wheelchair user I always enjoy my stay and can manage with the disabled facilities provided.

It’s not often that I have nothing negative to say about a hotel but this hotel comes pretty close to perfect! Although first impressions were not so good as there was no-one in reception when we arrived but other than that it was all very positive.

The room was not large but was well equipped with everything you needed. King size bed, black out curtains, sockets, TV, kettle, iron and board etc. The bathroom was small but had plenty of work surfaces to keep all your toiletries etc. We had a room at the back and it was nice and quiet.

Everything was clean and well maintained.

Due to the hotel being in the High Street, parking was a short walk away but you do not have to pay extra as the hotel has reserved spaces for guests.

Breakfast was a buffet and had plenty of choice.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful especially in the breakfast room.

Room Tip: 2nd floor at the back was quiet

Very friendly staff, especially in the breakfast room. Our room was clean and very comfortable with a large bath and powerful shower. The only slight gripe was being given a key to the wrong room to start with (the room was already occupied as we could see their cases when we opened the door so this could have been a security issue - we certainly wouldn't have been pleased had someone else opened our door during our stay!). Parking is limited. We were lucky to get the last real space but it got very cramped as cars were parking in the roadway.

The room was very well presented, lovely breakfast in the morning, spot on, parking is a bit rubbish as it's about a 10 minute walk down the back roads. That's the only let down, very clean hotel and the staff were very polite

Stayed here for one night as part of a weekend in St Albans with my boyfriend. Very friendly greeting on arrival and great instructions for how to find the nearby car park, even when there was a series of roadworks on blocking the normal path!

The bedroom was very clean, nice array of toiletries and good towels. The bed was comfortable, although the synthetic pillows were a little difficult to sleep on.

The cooked breakfast the following morning was fantastic, particularly the sausages. The only downside we experienced was the bottle of wine we bought from the bar to take to our hotel room, which was vastly over-priced and tasted rubbish.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the upper floors away from the lift.
