“A unique experience for inquisitive young minds”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

As local residents we're regular visitors to Butterfly World, and feel lucky to have it on our doorstep. We have three young boys so the combination of a lovely playground, space to run around and explore interestingly designed gardens, and the option of handling creepy crawlies works very well in entertaining our little explorers! The butterfly conservatory is fab, although my boys are always tempted to try to 'catch' the butterflies! During school holidays there are additional fun activities laid on (although these are usually at an extra cost). There are three small indoor areas but generally it's only really worth going when you can properly explore the gardens and the children can make use of the playground. Well worth a visit.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed November 22, 2013

We went here on a cold October day, so the outdoor gardens were past their best and there weren't any native butterflies to see. However, we did all have a great day out. The children loved the garden with the large flowerpots. We spent ages admiring the butterflies in the tropical house and the leaf cutter ants were fascinating. The girls loved the minibeast handling too. Despite the weather, we stayed over three hours.

“Over stated”

You have great expectations reading about this place. What a disappointment, from when you arrive all the way until you leave!! There is so little to see and do. Spare your family the disappointment and go to the park in St Albans by the Cathedral.

staff are very knowledgeable and the insects. Nice lay out. Beautiful gardens. Only real criticism things in the gift shop are over priced.

“Great day out with the kids”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

Spent the day here with the kids and they loved it. The insect talk was really interesting and they also enjoyed handling some of the bugs. They enjoyed running around outside and the playground and particularly loved the butterflies themselves. A lovely, interesting place. Will definitely be back.
