Arrived for a business/social celebratory lunch with four friends at 1pm and left many, many hours later!! We loved the new décor and the food was fantastic. The service was excellent and very prompt. But by far the very best, were the staff. Imogen and James were very attentive and went out of their way to look after us.

One of my friends fancied a little bit of chocolate for dessert but as there wasn't anything chocolatey on the dessert menu Imogen disappeared off to the kitchen and melted some chocolate into which she dipped the most delicious, crumbly, 'melt in the mouth' shortbread biscuits. We felt very special and were very impressed with Imogens' customer service.

James was our very own personal bar man for the afternoon. Nothing was too much trouble and we tried everything he suggested!! James really knew his stuff when it came to the drinks available. He had done his homework!

We had the most amazing time at the Verzon and will definitely go back.........if only to see the awesome Imogen and very patient, and knowledgeable James!!!

I was very disappointed after deciding to retry the Verzon following the recent change of management.

Having booked a table in advance I was expecting a lot more. Upon arrival we got some drinks and requested the menu. 45mins later we received the menu after chasing twice. The bar and restaurant was empty without about 5 guests.

We found that we had been ignored, given a lower priority as the staff discussed wedding plans with a couple that arrived after us. Eventually upon being seated in the restaurant we received our meal. The meal itself wasn't bad but wasn't great either, very fancy and little amounts. Upon finishing our mains we found ourselves again waiting for deserts which when someone decided to see to us we opted for the bill instead. I can't see why the service was so shocking as there was only one other couple in the restaurant so it wasn't as though they were rushed of their feet.

Being a local we won't be going back, very surprised and disappointed.

I have been going to the Versions for some 40 years. I was really hoping new owners would bring up the standard. After choking of fumes from a coal fire expelling around the bar the slow service moved us to the restaurant. No offer of a wine menu and no chance to ask for a drink. The starter tasted ok but I could not see it. The lighting was so poor what I guessed was a nicely laid out selection was a stab in the dark. No chance to order drinks I wondered to the bar. This restaurants drinks feature is Chase gin in a large round glass. Very nice. However it seems they have only a few feature glass`s a real pity. After finishing a normal gin at the table some 60 minutes later I was offered a drink, which this time eventually arrived. The steak nicely cooked arrived on a wide rimmed plate, the rim was warm the bottom cold. A rare steak is never hot, stone cold before 50% the way through. I really hope things change or the writing is on the wall. They have already lost dozens of sittings as the rumours grow.

We were taken to dinner in the restaurant by friends who live locally and were very impressed with both the surroundings and our meal. It was a Saturday night and the bar was extremely busy but we found a lovely table in the window surrounded by four comfortable leather chairs to have our aperitif; a bottle of champagne nicely served in a glass ice bucket (a rare thing these days). The champagne was Pol Roget, very well priced at £45.00, and good quality.

The dining room is spacious with large wooden tables and a rather old-fashioned antique feel which we liked. I chose quail ravioli to start, which was delicious, followed by the most glorious steak and kidney pie I've ever eaten featuring crumbly short crust pastry which when cut open revealed a rich thick gravy tumbling out with a filling full of tender steak and lots of kidney. Served with baby carrots (crisp and fresh) and garlic mashed potato it was delightful and I would go back again just for that. Everybody else was equally satisfied with their meals, particular the fish and chips and unfortunately no-one could manage dessert.

The bill was £110 for two which we thought was very reasonable as this included one bottle of champagne and two bottles of wine. Service was good and the waiting staff very pleasant; we enjoyed our evening and will certainly return next time we are in Ledbury.

Decided to try out the verzons for a meal for mine and my sisters birthdays, it has been recently taken over and with this in mind we decided that as it is local to us we would give it a go- so to speak

On arrival we were greeted by a smiling young lady, who was polite and showed us through to the bar area, where we enjoyed some drinks, looked at the menus and then placed our order. When the food was ready we were shown through to our table, when the food arrived we all commented on the lovely appearance and then the fantastic taste of it. Compliments to the chef!

Although it was a quiet Sunday evening and we were the only table, we were never made to feel rushed, or unwelcome, it was a wonderful evening, and helped make the occasion even more special
Thank You
