This is a beautiful old building, sympathetically converted into a comfortable hotel. Our room was spacious without losing its period features. Although the shower room was small, somehow fitting behind the fireplace, the shower was excellent.
We had an excellent meal, the staff were helpful and friendly and Wi Fi freely available.

This distinctive and very friendly hotel has everything any traveller could ask for. They offer a very friendly and efficient service, the rooms are extremely comfortable, the food is excellent and the bar is friendly with an excellent choice of drinks including local beers.

I was very happy to eat the food as it is locally sourced and beautifully presented, the choice is wide and individual tastes are catered for fully.

A perfect location for exploring the beautiful countryside.

It was thrilling to stay in an Inn that had been an Inn for four hundred years and where the Roundheads had fought a battle with the cavaliers in the dining-room where we had breakfast. At the same time, all the fittings were of a very high standard of modern comfort, convenience and good taste.

The hotel was, as shown on the photos, a real trip into the past.
The ensuit was rather cramped, but one would expect that in an old building.
The breakfast was very generous but the toast had not been freshly made, not at all crisp.
The veggy option on the evening meal was excellent, but the pie was most unpleasant, soggy pastry and tough meat with reheated chips- I would advise you not to try this.
A lovely hotel for B & B but I would suggest you eat your evening meal elsewhere.

Just the most amazing little hotel! Heaps of character, excellent service, room immaculate and nothing was too much trouble.
