Stumbled across the Talbot by chance when looking for somewhere to eat on a Sunday afternoon.
Locally served vegetables and reared meat made our Sunday roast the best we have eaten in a long time and one which would give any top London establishment a run for its money. Priced fairly given the quality of food served, and deilvered in a quaint homely environment I am eager to return to sample the food off the main menu. If you are in the area this little gem is definately worth a look in. Following dinner, you can pass through into the bar, a traditional british pub with an open fire to keep you warm in the winter months served with award winning british ales on tap.

I've stayed twice at the Talbot Inn and both times have had a really good nights sleep followed by a hearty, filling breakfast. The B&B is really old and I love the fact the ceilings and floors are uneven. It's in a great location for the town and the staff have always been friendly and welcoming.

Room Tip: Tall people may find the low doorways a bit painful!

A wonderful old property with comfortable character bedrooms, welcoming bar and panelled dining room. The staff were friendly and helpful. Good location near the high street. A lovely autumn weekend.

A small hotel with a family feel. Warm and friendly reception when arriving, nice restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The rooms are a bit low and there are several places where I need to watch out for hitting my head.

we arrived in time for the sunday lunch ,which wasreally well cooked and presented .andy showed us to our room ,he is a larger than life landlord ,very friendly and imformative of the hotel .we had no problem with the parking ,whilst we stayed there .the hotel is very old and quirky ,and we were so glad to see that it is used by the locals ,who were friendly to the guests ,and very helpful ,when it came to wanting local knowledge .throughout our stay we found the food tobe of a very high quality ,the steak pie with its shortcrust pastry was the best one i have ever had .colin and his team in the bar made you so welcome ,nothing was ever too much trouble ..breakfast was served by john ,who is a true professional ,a very high quality locally sourced full english ,we enjoyed each morning . andy and marie run a truly excellent hotel and this is reflected in their staff attitude to the guests at all times .we are looking foreward to returning to this lovely hotel .many thanks to all of you .

We said that we would return, and we did. Better than last time. The food was excellent, both at breakfast and in the evening. We were made very welcome and well supported by the friendly staff throughout our stay. And the beer was good.
