“It really is great value!!”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

A really fascinating and enjoyable tour of a working cider producer's factory. Loved the history of when it was all done by hand and horse. And they still have Shire horses that you pet, pat, stroke and feed! Very lovely. Then you get in to see the stills ... some of them are hundreds of years old and still working. It's a real thick old slice of history. And finally ... you get to taste the brews - which is just wicked!! And you get a free gift as well as a very pleasing and most palatable tasting experience. Then it's into the restaurant for a lovely dinner at a very sensible price. Excellent service. Lovely food. And a really genuine pleasure. You'll totally love the experience and the tour is very good value at just £7.50 per head! An excellent way to spend a delightful few hours.

“If you like cider you will like this!”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

Started with a coffee in the cafe, pretty basic but OK. This doubles as a bottle museum which is quite astonishing for the number of different ciders available. The tour was great fun, very interesting and informative. You get to see the whole process as well as a few perry trees! I agree that the heritage centre was a bit of a letdown but this was made up for by the variety of ciders made available for tasting. Seemed to be good prices in the shop as well.

“Unexpectedly good”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

We visited Westons and were very pleasantly surprised. The first surprise was lunch. An interesting menu and some very good food. My Hereford Pie was excellent. Well presented and delicious. The second surprise was the Perrie Cider; I thought it ought to be tried. So good I bought a case when we left afer the tour. The guided tour taken by Jessica was the third surprise. Interesting informative and fun. I nerver knew it was so involved. I thought they the just squeezed a few leftover apples and let the juice ferment.
Anyway, make the time to visit when you are that way. Well worth it.

“Great Cider, shame about the tour.”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

Was on the first tour Sunday morning (11.00am). The guide was very good and answered all the question asked very well. To see round the grounds of the mill was very interesting and you do have to remember this isn't a museum it is a working cider mill. You finish the tour in the heritage centre and this is were it went down hill, not a lot to see, a dumping ground for unused display boards and rubbish, poorly lit items and badly laid out, really just a hotch potch of cider related items. Then there's a small bar area that looked like it had not been cleared up after a party the night before, plastic cups and half empty bottles etc just laying around, you have the tasting in the shop, obviously so you will then buy some product, which I was going to do anyway. The bar area in the heritage centre would be perfect if laid out properly and looked after. Westons family get over to Penderyn Distillery just the other side of Abergavenny they do a great tour and the sampling area at the end of the tour is lovely and its just at he side of the shop area so plenty of chances to sell their product. Come on Weston family you make and sell great cider & perry make your tour great too. Had a lovely lunch in the bottle museum cafe, and the lovely smell from the Scrumpy resturant means will be coming for a visit again.
