“Strange but nice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2013

A lovely castle but strange at the same time. This place seems to me to be in the wrong place but I suppose if you have the cash you can built what you want! It is a lovely place with some very interesting things such as the armour and library. It is a shame that one of the rooms is laid out for weddings as it detracks from the splendor. The guides are very well informed and have a wealth of information about the house and all its contents.

“Great venue”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2013

We came here for the Chili festival on the bank holiday and had a great time. Fantastic weather and atmosphere, some great food and a lovely walk around the lake. The castle itself was ok, and great that it was all included in the entrance, although I am not sure I would come here if the festival had not been on.

“Hot destination”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 10, 2013

As with a few of the previous reviewers we were there over the Bank Holiday and, unbeknown to us, the Chilli festival was on, an added bonus to an already fantastic destination. The grounds are immaculate and beautiful, the arboretum, the lake and the maze were all highlights and there were plenty of shady spots to hide away from the sun in. The castle is spectacular, an eclectic collection of furniture, knick knacks, portraits and historical oddities, well worth 45 minutes of anyone's time. The Chilli festival was ace, we fed well and came away with a stash of hot, hot, hot stuff!
