After suffering the delights of the Green Dragon in Hereford and a few other poor hotels in the Herefordshire area, the Feathers was a welcome surprise.
Nestled in the heart of Ledbury, the Feathers ticked all the right boxes.
Slightly pricey for a room in the locale but I'd say it was worth it overall. Lovely big beds and very professional staff.
The hotel also offers everything a business traveller could want with a gym, pool and fabulous looking restaurant which seems to be the restaurant of choice for the locals. Though we ate out in the Indian on the High Street as I was looking for a more relaxed evening.
The Feathers can appear on first hand to be an old and stuffy hotel, but on arriving this was quickly forgotten. From young children, to gym users, to a professionals and retirees, the Hotel seemed able to accommodate all without anyone losing out.
The breakfast was big and beautiful.
My company paid £98 for a double with single occupancy. Parking was free and right next to the hotel within yards of the High Street.

I invited guests form Costa Rica, Belgium, France and Didcot! to stay at an olde English hotel with all the character they hoped to find. They were 200% satisfied and it exceeded their wildest dreams, From the location, the Black and White construction to the faultless service it was absolutely brilliant.
Yes it creaks a bit, yes there is no air conditioning in the old part, but they have done the best you could possibly expect while retaining the atmosphere. The food was great- no buffet breakfast here!!! Even if you do not eat and drink in teh hortel the surrouding pubs and resaurants are very good and full of character and characters!
It is not cheap but worth it

I spent two nights here with a group of friends on a walking weekend. The food was excellant, the rooms were elegant and roomy and there is a small spa area with a pool and a gym which were clean and well maintained. The hotel is ideally placed for shopping and walking but what particulary marks this hotel out for special praise was the quality of it's staff, who bent over backwards to make you feel valued and looked after.

We stayed 3 nights for a break on an inclusive dinner bed and breakfast rate. The hotel is situated in a charming Herefordshire village and is charming itself too with modern facilities. The staff are very courteous and efficient under the watchful eye of Mary the Hotel's Manager. We ate each night in Fuggles Restaurant and the food was excellent. among the delights were Hereford Fillet of Beef, King Scallops, Guinea Fowl and wonderful Weobley Lamb. A comprehensive but reasonable wine list is available.

Breakfast is served in the other restaurant Quills and again this was excellent with a wide choice of locally sourced meats and also smoked salmon.

Would definitely recommend a visit.

We usually go for modern, purpose -built, 4 star hotels with lots of mod cons. And when we walked into our room, I could tell that my husband thought I`d lost a few marbles! This place is OLD. Seriously old with all that that entails. No lift, dark rooms and very creaky floors.
That said, it has all the modern touches we need. Shiny well-appointed bathroom, flat screen satellite tv and broadband connection. It also has a lovely little walled garden, small indoor pool, gym and jacuzzi.
Two restaurants: Quills which looked too posh (and quiet) for us; and Fuggles Brasserie which was buzzing and did excellent food.
Staff were very friendly and the location, right in the centre of the charming little town of Ledbury, was excellent.
I had one of the best night`s sleep I`ve ever had in a hotel, and we certainly hope to return sometime.

We stayed here for just one night whilst visting the area. Unfortunately we didn't find the much promised ghost, but what we did find was a place full of character, comfort and charm. The '3 Cs' would be a good description.

The staff were more like friends and clearly loved the place. We didn't try the restaurant but the bar was the perfect place to unwind on a Friday evening as well as a welcoming spot for elevenses on saturday. The hotel is perfectly sited for the charm which is Ledbury town centre - a thoroughly undiscovered gem of a place.

We will be back!

I stayed at the Feathers for a few weeks in Aug/Sep 09, and it was great. The rooms were lovely, very clean and tidy, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was also good, and a nice start to the day. My colleague was up early on several days and the staff ensured that there was a selection of cereals etc for him to have for breakfast as he was leaving a couple of hours before the service started. One thing i would say, is that there are a few flights of stairs in the hotel - and no lifts, so can be a little awkward with bags, but having said that - the staff were more than willing to help with luggage etc, so you would never be stuck. Would definately stay here again.
