Moor Court Farm
Reviewed August 28, 2013

We stayed here for one night only (sadly) with our daughter, we had a lovely room with a four poster bed and our daughter was next door in a twin room (she felt very grown up). Lovely farm , beautiful surroundings and excellent and varied breakfast and Elizabeth was a very welcoming host and a mine of local information. Would not hesitate to recommend this to anybody especially those with children as our daughter loved the donkeys, horse, pigs and sheep, a true working farm.

Room Tip: no tip needed as all rooms are beautifully arranged , very comfortable and all have a lovely feel to...

We stayed for 1 night at Moor Court in a lovely four poster bedroom. Elizabeth was very welcoming and we enjoyed tea and coffee on our arrival in the garden overlooking an orchard with sheep. Elizabeth was not able to provide dinner however gave us an excellent recommendation a few miles away. The bedroom was comfortable and a good size (although apparently it's the smallest) and breakfast was good too. Elizabeth was very helpful on local attractions and we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. I am sure we will return.

We stayed here for two nights in a super room with a four poster bed. Elizabeth is most welcoming and so helpful. She always makes you feel as though you are the only guests staying as she always has time for a chat and lots of advice about the local area despite being a very busy lady on a working farm. We had an evening meal there which was all totally home cooked and totally delicious. We would have no hesitation in recommending Moor Court Farm to anyone. The garden is wonderfully tranquil to sit in yet the farm is ideally placed to be close to large towns and many local attractions. Although the weather was glorious whilst we were there I can imagine Moor Court Farm would be welcoming whatever the season.

Stayed here at this old farmhouse, which was in a lovely setting, for 2 nights over Bank holiday. Found host, Elizabeth, very welcoming with tea on arrival. Didn't manage to get the 4-poster bed but had the twin room which was very comfortable and clean. The home cooked breakfast was really good. It was nice to stay somewhere really quiet and peaceful where you couldn't hear any traffic, only sheep and cows of course. Its not far from the little village of Ledbury which is pretty and has some independent restaurants i.e. Olive Tree (Italian) which I would recommend. Also its not far from Malverns if you like walking. Would certainly go back to this B&B if ever this way again.

We had a very pleasant 2 night stay at Moor Court Farm, staying in a lovely room with a very comfortable four poster bed! Elizabeth was very helpful and welcoming, and on the first night when we decided to eat at the farm produced a fantastic home-made game pie, made with meat from the farm, followed by a lovely desert of meringues, rasberries and cream. Breakfasts were nicely cooked, and a reasonable rather than enormous portion. There were also lots of cereals available, and facilities to make your own toast (which I personally think is a much better arrangement than having more than you want brought to your table before you're ready to butter it!)

I've struggled on marking the location of Moor Court Farm. It's in a beautiful setting, and is quite convenient for visiting lots of different places by car, but there isn't really any scope for walking to anywhere! If you either want to completely hide from the world or you like driving out for days then it's great, but we do like to be able to stroll out in the evening if possible so it wasn't perfect for us.

The building itself is beautiful, and set in lovely gardens which have seating if you fancy sitting out with a book. The general feeling of the place is more akin to being a guest in someone's house than being in a guesthouse or hotel; again will suit some more than others.

The quiet location and comfy beds are perfect for catching up on rest and a good night's sleep - we both slept better than we had in months! We visited Hereford and Worcester, and I'd also recommend a visit to the smaller town of Ledbury which is very pretty.

2013 became our twelfth successive year whereby five old friends come together and all but take over the four guest rooms in this super farmhouse for a sociable week in early Spring.

Had hoped to keep the secret to ourselves but it seems that others have discovered the peace and quiet offered by Moor Court and the hospitality of Elizabeth & Peter Godsall. If you wish to experience staying amidst a working farm with genuine and courteous hosts, then look no further. Their knowledge of places of interest and real ale pubs/restaurants is gratefully received.

If you seek the conformity and power showers of a Premier Inn, then so be it, and we would be the first to agree that there are times for such a stay.

However, we come to Moor Court for the difference that it offers. We have found the individuality of the rooms, comfortable beds and a good night's sleep most attractive.

Improvements continue to be made to increase the enjoyment of our stay including the recent addition of a broadband network. Most useful as mobile phone signals can be patchy in this area, but then that is part of the attraction !

The locality is convenient for Hereford, Worcester, the Malverns and Cotswolds

An English Breakfast in the Spring sunshine around the farm table involving friendly banter is unbeatable and we look forward to 2014 and beyond.

Room Tip: Two rooms overlook the lawn and gardens and two overlook the sheep and donkeys; the choice is yours.
