We have a kgb deal for this hotel. I have tried unsuccessfully 4 times to make a reservation. There is a answer phone which eventually puts you through to reception. on reaching reception the answer phone speaks again. How does this hotel expect to take a reservation. Hope you all have better luck.

Just come back from a weekend at this hotel. It is a really old building with many beautiful original features and in it's day would of been very exclusive and expensive. We would go again as it was very reasonable but hotel bedrooms do need updating. On arrival we were met by a really helpful reception gentleman called Andy. We enjoyed excellent service throughout our stay and only eat at breakfast, which was buffet style as much as you wanted and good quality food. The dinning area has been updated but still leaving the features of wood paneled walls etc. The hotel was very clean in rooms and all area's we could not fault our stay and will stay here again as it it is perfect location to explore Hereford...

My wife and I booked to stay tonight on the groupon offer,we parked nearby,on viewing the hotel thought it looked dated,in need of updating,at reception a chap booked us in,the chair he was sitting on had half the foam showing, everything seemed dirty to us,anyway we were booked on the third floor,we got to the lift, once the door opened,I have never been in such a filthy disgusting lift, the walls were covered in carpet,it absolutely stank.when we got to the room we just looked at each other, decided to just leave our bags, and go for a walk around Hereford,we both decided there was no way we were staying in this filthy hotel,we got our bags, and I gave the key back, and told the reception guy that we are not staying in a dump like this,it needs closing down, and have a major revamp.we are now back home,so much for a nice evening away, never will return again

Room Tip: Beware worst place ever

Stayed a night here at short notice. Very reasonably priced through Laterooms. Hotel was ok but rather tired looking. Our room was unimpressive. Beds very low to the ground with hard pillows and inadequate bedding for a cold night. Fortunately we were able to add the bedspread from the extra bed as there were no extra blankets.
Breakfast was standard buffet and reasonable.
On the plus side most of the staff were excellent.
It was cheap so you get what you pay for, but I wouldn't go there again.

Great location and from the outside is an impressive building. Unfortunately needs a considerable amount of refurbishment. Room was warm and relatively clean but the furniture and furnishings were very dated. Bathroom was poorly maintained with fittings missing and of a poor standard. Could be so much more but unfortunately not one of the best experiences.

Enjoyed a night's stay here recently and was sufficiently impressed to have booked to go back with family for a couple of nights next month.

The hotel is in a great central location, 10 minutes walk from the train station. It added significantly to a relaxing trip to be able to leave the car at home and let the train take the strain.

The room was clean, comfortable, and warm. It did have a very faint smell of fresh paint so had perhaps been recently refreshed, but there was certainly nothing to complain about.

The staff work incredibly hard - the same two young ladies appeared to be in duty from first breakfast service to last orders at the bar - but remain friendly and helpful at all times.

A general principle that has served me well over the years is not to sleep in restaurants and not to eat in hotels so I can't comment on the evening meal offering. The breakfast one was a fairly typical hot and cold buffet choice. Nothing remarkable but the hot food was hot and everything was in plentiful supply.

I can't really think of anything negative to say. Some background music in the lounge area would be nice to break the 'waiting room' atmosphere but other that that, as the title says, what's not to like?

I'll post an update after the next stay.

Went with the Groupon offer. Room was spacious but in need of some updating. Was clean other than the extractor fan in the bathroom was a bit dusty and the shower head was dirty. Very well placed in Hereford for exploring. Staff were really friendly and helpful and made you feel welcome. Breakfast was as expected a help yourself hot buffet and cereal. Just a shame the buffet was a bit cold. For the money cant complain, if on offer might stay again.
