Description: Tucked away from the hustle and bustle in a picturesque courtyard overlooked by St. Peter's church spire. Here is, quite simply, the only place to visit if it is a continental flavour that you are looking for. Where else in this little market town could you sit outside under the canopy of a huge grapevine and enjoy a pitcher of Europe's finest beer or lager? Here is an ideal spot to relax and contemplate life whilst sipping one of the worlds many varieties of wine.

If you don't know Gilbie's exists down a side alley off High Town then you are missing out! Seven of us visited for my mums birthday back in July and we had a lovely meal. The staff were friendly and professional and the food was cooked perfectly. Providing a gluten and dairy free meal for myself was no problem at all and they suggested alternatives to certain menu items to suit my needs. We will definitely be returning!

We ate here on a fairly quiet Tuesday evening during a short stay in Hereford, following up on the good reviews already on TripAdvisor. It did not disappoint. The food was great, the service friendly and attentive, and the wine list interesting and extensive. There's a slight unease about going into a second room to order the food, but it's easily overcome!
The position, hidden down a passageway leading off one of the city's main shopping streets, keeps the courtyard setting peaceful, and the indoor ambience is good.
Highly recommended
