“Looking forward to staying again”

We took a three night break at very short notice, and yet the house was impeccably clean, warm and inviting, and a very useful welcome pack was, well, very welcome. Our hostess, too, was very welcoming. The house is quietly located down a turning off the lane through the village. That lane is usually very quiet, but rather less so at commuting times.
The village has a small shop that packs a lot into a small space, and a pub (The Plough) that serves excellent food, and rather than try to suss Winchester's complicated road network in the dark we ate there every night. Unheard of for us, but we did!

I must also say we both remarked on how nice the drinking water tasted at the house. From the Test valley? But yummy.

Overall, strongly recommended, and we want to go back soon..

“Very comfortable and welcoming accommodation.”

Myself, husband and our friend spent four days at the Old Tractor Barn in Sparsholt in October to visit family in the area. The cottage was warm, clean and very well equipped, also the welcome pack and fresh flowers was a lovely touch. It was also a bonus to have onsite parking and a private garden. Debbie the owner welcomed us to the area and her property, checking we were comfortable - another lovely touch, thank you. Our only disappointment was that we hadn't found the Old Tractor Barn before, however, we will be back. A lovely property so near Winchester with lovely walks in the area.

Excellent location, brilliant amenities, beautifully clean, good wifi, unexpected welcome basket and fresh cut flowers on arrival, many toiletries and kitchen condiments supplied.
Good location for a teenage family with a variety of historical attractions to visit. Not only will I recommend it but we fully intend to stay again next year.

“would stay here again”

Great holiday rent. Very well equipped. Single bed mattress we padded out with throws from end of bed so son was happy then. Other mattresses seem comfy and duvets/towels soft. Difficult to find property, aim for 'Cattery' ( black cat on sign) as come into village from south and turn up that drive. Lovely quiet rural location. Walking and biking from doorstep on bridleway. 5 mins walk to small community shop. Very helpful owner. WiFi, DVD and freeview. All family love it, aged 4 to 70. Would stay here again and would recommend.

I am so glad you enjoyed your stay at The Old Tractor Barn. Thank you very much for your feedback and on the back of that, you will be pleased to hear that I have replaced the mattress in question! I do hope you come back and try it out!! Best wishes

“Lovely property, ideal location, would happily stay here again”
Reviewed July 26, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

This is a lovely place to stay just outside of Winchester in a rural location. Everything that you might need is catered for here. Very friendly owner. Nice pub just down the road that serves very tasty food. I would recommend this property to anyone. If I had to add a negative, I would suggest upgrading the mattresses to something a little more comfortable.
