Felt fit for self-preoccupied, youthful, and beautiful people, with each seat set to earn x dollars per hour. On finishing cappuccinos cups were taken away we were asked if wanted anything else. A short time later questioned if we wanted to see the breakfast menu. Lots of other welcoming and relaxing places in Winchester to take coffee and enjoy friends’ company. Happily gave our stamped loyalty card to people sitting by the door next to the road.

Sausage roll game changers

We attended a friend’s birthday at this establishment. The food was fantastic and the menu comprehensive. The selection of wines was also impressive. Its early days for this place and seeing some of the comments about noise I can understand but I think that would be addressed in time. People love to have their coffee and watch the world go by its glass fronted so this is very appealing but probably doesn’t help noise abatement. In other words you can’t have your cake and eat it no pun intended. I have to say I thought the atmosphere was perfect and a great venue for a birthday party. You have to try the sausage rolls they are amazing fresh and sooo tasty ( obviously if you a vegetarian I wouldn’t suggest this but would point out that your missing out on life’s treats I heard the tomatoes are lovely.
Get down to Black White Red and give it a try you won’t be disappointed Kevin you’re a gentleman..

Great idea. Great Coffee. Great wine. Good menu. Good cooking. BUT: oh dear - avoid the Sunday brunch slot. The place is heaving with toddlers throwing jam and toast all over the place. Parents seem oblivious to the need to at least collapse their designer push-chairs while the rest of us struggle to find a seat. The noise levels are deafening. The staffing needs a serious sorting out; one or two girls running around serving the entire restaurant/NOT cleaning up after the toddlers particularly well whilst 5 men loiter behind the counter having a great time and doing nowhere near as much as the gals. OK they all chat and make coffee, but the girls need some serious help. Consequently, they have turned a bit rude and short with the customers. Can't blame them. I'm disappointed. They will be a victim of their own success if not careful.

I so much wanted to enjoy this new addition to the Winchester scene but there is no understanding of vegetarian food, sadly. A boring salad was all I could eat there. Also the noise one evening was appalling, got a sore throat from shouting to make myself heard. Coffee was very good, though.

Excellent coffee to start and the owner of the coffee brand they sell was even there to help with decisions. Very nice menu with a nice twist to simple dishes cooked very well. We were a big group and i tried almost every dish, every one was tasty and well presented. Afterwards had the pastries which again were well made, special note to the bakewell tart and another coffee! would definitely recommend.
