Stayed here for 3 nights and found it absolutely delightful, Its located within easy walking distance of the town centre. An efficient friendly check in, Spacious room, spotlessly clean, All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was particularly good, so good in fact we had our evening meal there every night. I could not find fault and i did try. We will be returning there again sometime in the summer.

A thouroughly satisfying stay, ideally located for a visit to Winchester and sourrounding areas. The hotel manages to tick just about all the right boxes as it combines all the benefits of a stylish, modern hotel with service more often associated with old world charm. I would definitely return.

We stayed for a weekend in March selecting the deal which included two nights bed and breakfast, evening meal with bottle of wine and room upgrade for about £160 all in. My wife and I share the same birthday so this weekend was a birthday treat and a treat it turned out to be. The staff from the reception area to Rob in the bar could not have been better. Indeed, when the staff found out it was a birthday celebration then an extra bottle of wine was thrown in on the following evening. On the basis that nothing is ever perfect then I would mention a couple of things. We were on the third floor which involved taking the lift to the second floor, walking down a maze of corridors to another lift which took us to the third floor. The second thing was that the deal we were staying under did not include the mini-bar which remained empty except for two bottles of complimentary water. This potentially cost the hotel because we would have probably bought something and it would have cost them nothing. To sum up a lovely hotel, terrific food and staff that were pleased to see you.

Just returned from a wonderful weekend away with my husband at The Winchester Hotel and would throughly recommend staying here as it is without doubt one of the best 4* hotels we have stayed in. We were also lucky enough to get a fantastic deal online and only paid £158 in total for 2 nights B & B with free dinner on the first night, a free bottle of house wine and a free room upgrade. Having said that the hotel is well worth paying more for and if you are unable to get the same deal as us you won't be disappointed if you have to pay more. Dinner was first class (our complimets to the chef) and breakfast was also extremely good. Our large room on the 3rd floor was extrmely clean, quiet & comfortable. ALL the staff were friendly, professional and helpful although I did name a couple of 'shining stars' on our customer satisfaction survey. The city of Winchester is charming & only a 10 minute walk from the hotel. We would like to congratulate the management of The Winchester Hotel for running a 1st class estsblishment and thank all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone and hope to return ourselves one day soon.

We stayed at The Winchester in March and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We booked a deal on the internet which offered an upgrade to an executive room and dinner on the first night. We had intended to eat out on the second night but enjoyed the first night meal so much we ate in the restaurant again on the second night - food to die for! Our room was very clean and nicely furnished. The only slight niggle was the air-con which we were unable to turn off. The staff were very friendly and helpful, always had a smile for you. The location of the hotel is great, with only a short walk to the town centre and the cathedral. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

A very enjoyable stay - Excellent food and high quality customer service from all - Vey commendable!!
The only gripe we had was the signs directing you to the bedrooms - We had a room on the first floor and as you walk up the stairs, there is a sign at the top pointing to the right saying ALL 1st FLOOR BEDROOMS - As it turned out, after a bit of exploring and not finding our room (117) it transpires that our bedroom was actually to the left!! A lot of the signs are confusing and can I suggest that you just look at them and see how logical they really are - We even got lost on the way back from the gym as there were no signs for Room 107!!

We stayed here mid March 2010. Found a brilliant deal online offering 2 nights b&b, 1 night 3 course dinner, executive room upgrade and a free bottle of wine for just £160 for 2 of us!

We weren't expecting top quality given the price, but we were really pleasantly surprised. Excellent facilities, lovely big room, very friendly helpful staff, beautiful breakfast and a great location. The best part of the stay there was probably the three course meal we had at the hotels restaurant; top quality food much better than the expensive meal we paid at an exclusive restaurant in town the night before.

I would definitely go back again!
