I met a couple of friends here for lunch on a Sunday in March and when I had looked online at the menu beforehand I thought it looked a bit boring. However, given the great reviews, we thought we'd give it a try and we all opted for the Sunday roast.
Well this was a roast to die for. Absolutely huge plates with plenty of food and the best thing was that everything was properly made, not cooked from frozen or out of a packet. The veggies were fresh, the gravy was delicious and the roast potatoes were the best I have had in a restaurant for as long as I can remember.
The service was also good, very friendly and welcoming and the pub seems to be extremely popular considering it filled up within about ten minutes of opening!
The coffee and tea were good, served with cute miniature milk bottles and those individually wrapped caramel biscuits.
All in all a very nice meal.
