We spent the day in Winchester and found this place for lunch, just near to the Cathedral. The queues were out the door so we took this to be a good sign of the quality of food inside!

We were not disappointed, there are lots and lots of different pasties to choose from, both veggie and meaty, as well as sweet things too.

We ordered a sausage roll and a pasty, along with a double choc chip muffin and a chocolate pastry twist.

The food was brilliant, freshly cooked and really, really tasty. The meat in the sausage roll was really nice, and it was obviously their own special recipe, as it was full of herbs. The meat was lovely and soft too (not at all like what you find in supermarkets!). The chocolate chip muffin was the chocolatey-est muffin I have ever tasted. It had a slightly crispy top, and a really moist inner. YUM!

Also visited the branch in St Ives, which was just as good!

Will go back! :)

If you are looking to grab something quick and easy which you can either eat in or take out and eat in the cathedral grounds then this is the place for you! The pasties are really tasty and I would recommend them.
One draw back is that sometimes you are left queueing out the door, which is not pleasant in the rain!
Staff are relatively friendly and do a basic job of serving you.

our family of four found it difficult to get to a table here as we had to step over trays of uncollected dirty crockery placed on the floor. We waited 20 mins for someone to clear and wipe down the table but in the end no-one turned up. it appeared that there was one waitress serving the cafe and one serving in the shop and they could not cope.

Also, the menus on the table DID NOT LIST THE PRICES!! Not even sure this is legal in the UK.

We left without anyone even coming near our table to tidy or take an order and we were not the only ones. I talked to the shop assistant on the way out to complain and she said policy was not to have prices on display and everyone moaned about this apparently! She said our waitress was new and did not know what to do.

I think this is probably the worst cafe I have ever been to inside the EU!!
