Came here for a celebration meal with my mum, boyfriend and a family friend and though at first it seemed nice, the food seemed a bit disappointing for all the great reviews it has. The falafel was burnt, the calamari was tough and soggy despite the menu heralding it as 'crispy' and paying £6 for some tiny king prawns on a bed of lettuce was not desirable. The halloumi, however was delicious and they allowed us to have it as a vegetarian portion without the pork - always nice to be able to customise your dish.
With the portion size, you're definitely getting what you pay for, though the salad was fairly monotonous and tasteless, and again the calamari was soggy and chewy. My mother also complained about the excessively salty food, which was fine for my palate but definitely overpowering if you're not used to it.
The waiter seemed very professional at first but delivered our mains before we had finished our starters and didn't check to see if we found everything okay, which meant that our drinks were not refilled and we had to catch his attention across the fairly busy restaurant anytime we wanted something. It's a shame because it seems like a lovely little place, just everything felt disappointing.
