“Good location & good nights sleep”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2013

I stayed here on 26/02/13 for one night. I was here for work so I didn't choose the hotel myself.
I came by train & hadn't been here before so got a taxi to the hotel which cost about £4.
After walking around the town a bit it's not really that far from train station probably a 20 mins walk.

I arrived just after 3pm & reception was not busy so check in was quick & easy.
receptionist was friendly & explained where breakfast was served.

Room was clean - as I have come to expect from premier inn.

I was on second floor on the side of the hotel facing train tracks. For most people I think alarm bells would start ringing BUT they have done a decent job of soundproofing the windows so even though it is a busy train line it was not overly noisy.
Luckily I'm the kind of person who can fall asleep almost anywhere so for me it wasn't a problem at all.

Breakfast is served in the restaurant on the fifth floor. Standard breakfast buffet, nothing to fancy but all you can eat for the same price as a panini & coffee in a coffee shop it's a pretty good deal.

Hotel is situated near the town centre for all the shops/bars/restaurants - easily walkable in 10 mins.

If I was to come back again either for work or leisure I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Don't be put off by proximity to rail way line but if a light sleeper maybe request a room on th...

Stayed at this premier inn for one night. Car parking for 24 hours costs £4 but if you are shopping this is cheaper than using the other car parks. Mark on reception very helpful. Room fine and clean. We did ask for a room away from the road but receptionist said this would be noisier at night because of the freight trains running alongside hotel. Even though our room was near road did not disturb our sleep. Good deal at £19 a night. This was our first visit to a premier inn and would certainly return if in the area again.

Room Tip: Not next to the freight train line!

Very reasonably priced for the place and area where we stayed. Close to town and public transport, easy to get to. Provide parking facilities. Very friendly and helpful. Clean fresh and very compfortable stay. Recommend this to anyone who likes to be near the town or see a show at the theatre, all close by.
I find the hotel facilities are very good indeed and the resturant too.
Will come back again.

Room Tip: What ever room area you choose it still cuts out any noise. all very pleasant indeed.

Conveniently situated in City Centre. Easy to locate and up to the usual good standard of most
Premier Inns. Car parking a potential problem - limited spaces & £4 a time. A small amount of noise from trafiic, but nothing to keep you awake. Only downside to our visit was the fact that our room had no WiFi signal at all and a very poor signal in some other areas of the hotel.
Other than that fine.

Our stay was generally very good, spoiled only by a number of residents coming in at 6.15am, talking loudly and banging doors (not the fault of the hotel we would add). On-site 24 hour (£4.00) parking was very handy, although the car park can get very full on busy nights.

Room Tip: Traffic at the front, trains at the back, but double glazing reduces the noise so neither is really...

As we have relatives in Southampton we stay in this hotel quite often. Check in is always super fast and receptionists are very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean with tea and coffee facilities, comfortable bed and a flat screen tv. Very cosy bar area with reasonably priced drinks for a hotel. Also very nice bar menu which you can have in he bar or take up to the room. We've never actually eaten in the main restaurant so can't comment on it, however I've heard very good things about it. My only gripe on the last visit is that the costa coffee machine has gone out of reception however you can get one in the bar so isn't a massive issue. We will always return to this hotel when visiting Southampton as because of their good night sleep policy you are guaranteed a restful and peaceful night!

I've just finished a 15 day stay and can't say enough nice stuff about it. Admittedly, my perception is to be judged through the lens of paying a ridiculously cheap rate but, I do feel that even if i"d paid normal prices, I'd feel the same. The front desk staff were accommodating, friendly and cheerful. The room was a great size (especially as I was on my own on this occasion). The bathroom decor was a little tatty (some broken fascia) and the toilet wasn't the most effective flush in the world, but really, tiny tiny niggles in the big scheme of things. 5 minute walk to West Quay Mall and the High street. 10 minute walk to the Saints Soccer Stadium, 10 minute to the train station. I used the restaurant a couple of times, good food, reasonable prices. As someone who lives in Canada, I'd prefer it if wifi was totally free - but their 10 pounds for a full week, is not bad compared with other hotel chains who charge more than that for a single day! Overall, a very very pleasant experience and I will certainly return next time I visit Southampton
