This hotel surprises you when you get in,... It is old but well preserved, clean in general everywhere you look, keeping healthy even for its age.
The rooms seem to be of different layouts and sizes as the hotel is old and the building is not as symmetrical as modern construction is. Therefore the room you get might be small or bigger, for the same price. You'd better ask for a bigger room.
Hotel staff service is good, attempting and kind anywhere you are in the hotel. It feels good. Perhaps the exception was a bar tender whom may have had a bad day,...
Breakfast is typical English style, varied and freshly cooked, tasty.
The outdoor parking is serous in size although appears to be always nearly full.
Over all it is a cozy place with character, well preserved with kind staff, at the Southampton high street. It is a shame that the high street is rather unimpressive.More
