Premier Inn Southampton West Quay Hotel
Ranked #2 of 25 Hotels in Southampton
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed June 26, 2013

We have stayed at this Premier Inn on a few occasions, always prior to boarding a cruise ship the following morning. It is well situated for accessing both the town centre and the cruise terminals.
Check in is a very easy process, either by using the self service check in kiosks or via a member of staff. We have always found the staff extremely pleasant and very willing to help but are more than happy to use the kiosks if the staff are engaged with other guests.
Rooms are always functional and of a good size. Ours have always been clean and the beds comfortable. It is fair to say that we have always had a good nights sleep in this hotel and this visit was no exception.
There is a multi storey car park nearby offering overnight parking at a reasonable price as it should be noted there is no parking at the hotel except for an unloading area when you check in. The West Quay car park is not open 24hours so your arrival time will determine whether or not you can gain access. In the event that it is closed there is an alternative car park very nearby.
WiFi is offered in each room free for 30 minutes. It works just fine and you have the option to pay for additional time if you wish but we have never found this necessary for an overnight stay.
We cannot comment on the restaurant at the hotel as have not eaten there recently.
Overall with a Premier Inn you know for the cost that it will not be a luxury hotel but what it does offer is a keenly priced, clean and comfortable hotel room with a guarantee that you will have a good nights sleep.

This is everything we have now come to expect from a Premier Inn. A clean, comfortable room for a very good rate. There's a restaurant and bar on the ground floor. We didn't have evening meal in the restaurant, but if breakfast was anything to go by, it was excellent. The hotel is situated close to the docks. Ideal if you're booked onto a ship for a cruise. It's is why we booked it, and it was perfect. Depending on the location of your room, you may even get to see your ship from the hotel window.

This was our first visit to a Premier Inn and we were extremely satisfied with everything from the moment we entered the building until the time we left. It was good value for money, very friendly, helpful staff, comfortable, very clean rooms and a wide choice of well prepared, tasty food.

We booked this hotel based on previous reviews and the fact the hotel is close to the Cruise Terminal as we we're departing on a cruise the next morning. We we're not disappointed; check-in was quick and easy; in fact, the hotel has Kiosk to help the process. The room descent size. clean. and comfortable. The bed was also comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. The staff was friendly and quickly prearranged two taxis for us for the next morning when asked. We did not eat at the hotel, but there is a large mall behind the hotel with many options for a traveler. We would certainly stay here again if visiting Southampton again.

We stayed for just a couple of nights prior to our cruise. This hotel was much to our liking as it was clean and comfortable and has an in room tea and coffee making facility. Breakfast was good either continental or full english but at an extra cost. On a negative point was the lack of storage space but as we were booked on a cruise this was not too much of a hindrance. Ideally situated literally next door to the shopping centre and city centre this hotel is great for week-end shoppers.

Room Tip: we and another couple travelling with us had rooms on opposite sides of the hotel on the second floo...

Stayed here for a night just to get away for the weekend. I was pleasantly suprised.. As soon as we arrived the man on reception was really helpful and greeted us with a smile which made us feel really welcome. The room was nice and tidy. Hotel is just a short walk away from the city centre and is right next door to the awestruck Quay shopping centre and retail park. Hotel is very clean and tidy! The breakfast was the best I've ever had!! Would definitely stay here again!!
