“Very busy but good hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2011

Stayed overnight and booked two rooms. The rooms were excellent, new, clean and very modern. I had phoned 5 days before to book the meal deal and was told no need to book until arrival. Unfortunately when we did arrive they were fully booked but the waitress/receptionist did her best to fit us in, although a lot later than we would have liked. We were also woken up after 11 p.m. with a call from Reception saying we had not paid for our meal and they wanted husband to get dressed and go down and pay. This wasn't explained to us when we were having our meal. The staff were very very busy and worked very hard as 4 cruise ships were leaving the next day. Just a word of warning, if you are pushed for time, get down to breakfast early, as 10 minutes after we arrived the queues were unbelievable to get a seat. We also found that we hadn't been booked in for breakfast either., therefore this took time to get sorted out. Not the relaxing break we had hoped for. We had stayed at the new Premier Inn at Gatwick in July and it was a totally different atmosphere. I felt there wasn't enough staff to cope with the huge amount of people in the hotel and the restaurant is definately not big enough. We do have a 2nd booking for this hotel next July and will still stay as it is a very nice hotel in a convenient position. Hopefully it will not be so busy and if so, we will be prepared this time. Excellent price if you book in advance.

Brand new hotel with self check in machines as well as receptionist at a check in station rather than desk, very modern! Hotel is extremely convenient for West quay shopping centre, IKEA, Leisure world with cinema/casino etc; all withinclose walking distance as well as being very near to the isle of wight ferry terminal and good viewing place for watching the cruise liners arrive and depart. View from the hotel leaves a bit to be desired, multi storey car park on one side and waste ground, back of M&S on the other but we found it suprisingly quiet in the evening. As everything is so brand new the hotel is fresh and clean but standard premier inn at the end of the day. No car parking on site so you have to use the next door west quay car park which you can use for 23 hours for £5. Had to ask at reception for extra pillows, towels and the soap dispenser hadn't been filled up but all were rectified in minutes by the housekeeper. Overall a very enjoyable last minute break before the children return to school.

We stayed for one night at this hotel before boarding a cruise ship the following day. The hotel is very new and has good rooms and facilities. The location is very good with a huge shoppng centre nearby and Southampton centre only a short walk too.
Our room was a standard double and was excellent with plenty of space and a clean and smart bathroom
Reception staff were very friendly and helpful and check in and out were painless. We stayed on a room only basis and paid £54 for the night.
We stayed on a Friday and the hotel was very busy. We were unable to get a restaurant table as all were booked but we were able to get a seat in the bar and the menu is available there. Easy. There are places to eat nearby too. For breakfast we went to M&S cafe across the road in the shopping centre.
The only small negative was that our room was at the front and we were disturbed in the early hours by drunks walking by below. That said we would certainly use this Premier Inn again. It is a good one.

Stayed one night here, would definitely use them again. Extremely clean, bedrooms immaculate, beds very, very comfy. Every member of staff we happened to speak to were so very friendly and thoughtful, genuinely so, ...it was a real pleasure to stay there.!!

I dont usually write reviews but stayed here for one night before setting off on a cruise. The family room but perfect, very clean and two separate single beds for the children. Breakfast was lovely. £7.99 per adult and the kids ate for free. A really good choice for everyone. Parking across the road was free overnight, just had to feed

The staff were what really made the stay great. Really friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.

A perfect base for pre-cruising. Would definately book again.
