Stayed here last night in a group for a night out and can't complain about anything. We arrived and were welcomed by the man on the desk who gave us keys and (as it was a group booking) asked me to sign a form to say I'd accept charges for damages. He pointed us to our rooms and said to let him know if we needed anything. He was more than happy to book a taxi for us later too.
Got to our ground floor rooms and were pleasantly surprised. The double room was warm and clean, the TV worked and the bathroom clean too. There was plenty of space for clothing.
We had two family rooms as well, and these were large and spacious, with plenty of storage space and one double bed and two single campbeds in each room. Both bathrooms were spotless. I should point out that these were the refurbished rooms, and they look exactly like the pictures on here. I can't comment on noise as our room was at the back of the building and quiet.
We found there was plenty of parking (we had four cars between us) and at £3 for 24 hours didn't find it too steep. It was a £8 taxi fee for a eight seat bus down to Oceana on a Saturday, so pretty close to the centre.
For a first stay at a Travelodge I was impressed and would happily stay there again. :)

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms have definitely been refurbished. Rooms at the back are quieter if you like the w...

A nice job has been done refurbishing this Travelodge which is well located quite close to Southampton City centre.
I received a nice welcome and very efficient check-in. The room, bathroom were all fresh and clean and the bed very comfortable.
The drawback with the location is that it is is very noisy, there is major junction adjacent to the hotel and a lot of pedestrians walking past through the night. While there is a carpark it is very small so parking is not guaranteed.

After a stay at the Travelodge in Southampton I am pleased to actually add this about a Travelodge!!

Its fresh, clean and well positioned...Ok it has no bar or cafe on the site and the carparking is payable but at £3 for 24hrs in the city is a bargain really, comfy beds, fresh obviously recently updated rooms and communal areas are fab too...

The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and always happy to help when they can..

If you are planning a trip to Southampton its well worth looking at this hotel

After reading some bad reviews about this hotel I decided to take a chance, on arrival we where welcomed with a friendly smile and told that our rooms had just been refurbished and asked if we would like to order breakfast. On entering the room we was pleasantly surprised of the quality of the furnishing and how clean it was we had a really goodnight sleep in a very comfortable bed. My only gripe was that when we left in the morning the man at the desk was on his mobile phone and did not acknowledge us so we had to wait to hand back our keys, but that does not put me off I would not let past reviews put you off as we had two rooms and both where of a height quality.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms that have been refurbished

Although the exterior still looks rather barrack-like, the interior has been completely refurbished. There are vending machines in the foyer along with a seating area and a visitors information book. My room was clean and functional. My bed was comfortable and the heater kept me warm at night. Lovely hot shower in the morning. On the downside my room did not seem to be sound proofed and I was awoken in the early hours of the morning by a returning noisy group of people. The hotel is on the corner of Lodge Road and London Road and there are plenty of buses into the town centre, otherwise it takes about twenty minutes to walk. Apart from the noise, my room was clean and functional. Remember to bring shower gel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is not next to the lift as I was also disturbed at night when it was in use.

Arrived late car park full, very helpful lady there recommended parking in a church just a minute up the road, was no problem. Room was great, really warm and comfortable with ample plump pillows. They don't have an on site cafe we went next door to a hotel for breakfast was a buffet, think was £5.99 for adults would be good if you can eat quite a bit to get the benefit, I only had a slice of toast as was going on a ferry :-/
