Stayed for one night before our cruise in July and used the car parking facilities for 2 weeks. The room was clean and comfortable with all facilities we needed. The breakfast was really nice and the staff friendly and helpful. With the location of the hotel to the centre of Southampton we managed to have a good few hours shopping before getting a taxi to our ship (£7.50). We will certainly be using this hotel again should we be booking a cruise and require an overnight stay!

We stayed one night at this hotel on 4th Aug. There is ample parking which is free if you are not leaving the car there whilst on a cruise. Although the room (24) could do with decorating it was clean and had all the facilities needed, it was really hot though, despite the outside temperature not been that high. As pointed out on checkout we could have asked for a fan but it was late when we returned from our evening out and we had thought the room would cool with the window open but it didnt. The hotel is a 20 minute walk to the city but it is an easy flat walk passing through a small park. There is a nice pub/restaurant ' The Cowherds' just 5 minutes walk up the road (heading out of the city) food was lovely but you best book on a Saturday, we were lucky as we went early and only 2 of us. The hotel breakfast was very nice only criticism is that the bacon was kept warm too long and had gone hard but everything else was very good. This hotel is right next door to a Travel Lodge and I think it was the limited parking there that made me book the Elizabeth House Hotel and seeing is particular Travel Lodge I was glad we hadn't booked it - it looks like an old tower block of flats! I would definatley consider this hotel again of I needed to visit Southampton.

Room Tip: Room 24 is on the ground floor but has 3 steps right inside the door going up to the room and bathro...

Stayed briefly overnight with our daughter to attend her graduation ceremony at Southampton University. The accommodation was very comfortable and clean. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had our evening meal at the hotel and the food was home-cooked and the portions very generous. Breakfast the following morning was very good. If ever we need accommodation in Southampton in the future we would certainly re-book.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter especially in the hot weather when windows need to be open.

My mother and I both found the hotel staff extremely helpful and friendly. We have stayed in other hotels in the area and this is our favourite; we will definitely be returning again. I left a rather expensive item of clothing in the room and a very helpful member of staff assured me he would post it to me free of charge, which he did straight away. I thought this was excellent customer service. We had a very nice clean room. The only minor problem was that the room was a little too hot. However this was during an unprecedented period of hot weather.

I was part of a family group that stayed Fri and Sat night at this small family run hotel. The price for the family room with breakfast for four was £91.50 per night and a double room for two came in at £81.50 with breakfast per night. Both rooms were clean and functional with good en-suite facilities, even if the décor did look a little bit dated. The cooked breakfasts are of particularly good quality and the average person should not need feeding again until diner time. Good location on the London road opposite the common, easy to find with ample free parking. Dock o the Bay restaurant is over the road and the Cowherds Pub (a Vintage Inn) is located 2 min walk away on the common as is a good children’s paddling pool and park. All in all a good place to base yourself for a few days stay when visiting the area.

Would definitely stay here again.
