Book this hotel for 3 night while on business trip to Southampton. Overall satisfy with the services provided. The breakfast was not the best but enough for gaining energy. The room was clean but no kettle supplied. The environment was quiet and there are some shopping stores locared in walking distance from the hotel. Overall happy with the provided.

Stayed here a few times while visiting Southampton before moving here. Thought the hotel was really great value for money. Room was spotless and had a really comfy bed, air conditioning, free wifi, TV, tea and coffee making facilities which is pretty much everything we needed for our stay.
We had a few drinks at the bar before going out for the night and thought the service was great and the prices were reasonable. Stopped off to have a few more after our night out and were happy to find it was open so late and that the staff were still really friendly and helpful even though it was getting late and we were probably quite tipsy.
The location was perfect as it was right by the train station and had restaurants, nightlife and west quay shopping centre all close by.
Checkout in the morning was quick and easy. Overall a great stay and really good value for money.

Southampton isn't the sort of place I'd go for a holiday but was a necessary location to prevent the stress of a 200 mile trip on the day of a cruise.
The hotel is set near to a shopping centre and across the road from the docks. There are several similar hotels in the vicinity together with the usual fast food places.
I like Ibis, you get a cheap(ish) clean and tidy hotel close to where you want to be , so are there any negatives?
Well be careful. My son warned me that choosing a city based hotel for a Saturday was probably a mistake and could attract stag and hen parties and the related problems that entails. Needless to say his prophecy came true and we had a stag party in the room opposite ours, and the noise, booze, general threat was worrying...for a time, then suddenly they all went quiet and we had no further bother that night. Now whether that was the hotel taking action or them going out all night I do not know, and overall it had little effect on our stay.
However ,it has made me wary of staying there again at a weekend, so you may wish to consider a more out of town location, like a motorway service travel lodge...it could be quieter!

Room Tip: Good luck,it's a lottery

I stayed overnight at ibis prior to a cruise from Southampton . it is a ideal hotel to stay at as it is only a few minutes drive to the port . it is a modern looking hotel with a room that was clean and adequate for my needs .i had a couple of drinks the night of arrival in a well stocked bar and breakfast the day i left which was a full English . i would recommend this hotel to anyone for a short visit

Room Tip: it is nice to receive room overlooking car park and port

Warm and Welcoming..Stayed overnight here prior to departing from Southampton on a Cruise. The Hotel is easy to find,as it is on one of the main routes into Southampton, Not to be confused with the IBIS Budget Hotel, which lies adjacent to this Hotel and shares the same car park as a couple of other Hotels.

The Hotel was very reasonably priced, costing £47 for our one night stay, the rooms are very clean, fresh and nicely decorated...............and best of all very quiet. All rooms have air conditioning and come with complimentary tea and coffee making facilities in the room. It has a wonderfully clean and modern shower/wc room with fresh clean towels provided. The beds are a King-size and are comfortable, there are loads of hanging space in the wardrobe and likewise lots of coat hangers. Modern tv wall-mounted with remote with access to most tv channels. Also close by are TGI Fridays (Diner), serving food until 11:00 pm with last orders being taken at 10:30 pm, and also a McDonald's close by. There is also the West Quay shopping centre a few 100 yards away. It is very close to to Dock Gate 10, giving easy access to both the City Cruise Terminal and the Mayflower Cruise Terminal which are 1.2 miles away form the hotel, and as we were departing on a cruise the following morning this hotel served our needs very well. A breakfast can be booked either at reception or during the online booking procedure and cost £7.95 for a buffet style breakfast which is served in the restaurant adjacent to the Hotel reception. Only real downside I found was that you have to enter the Car Park to get to reception, which issues you a car park ticket and that car park ticket cost another £6.00 for 24 hours, so value for money thats not bad, but for a overnight stay.....Mmmmm seems a little excessive but with the shopping centre close by I can see why they need to do that.
Generally a really nice hand place to stay with easy access to both Southampton and the Cruise Terminal, Thanks for a great stay

Room Tip: All rooms have Air Con triple glazing so back or front of the Hotel it will be quiet.
