My husband and I went to Ovation last weekend before going on to a show at the Mayflower theatre(this restaurant is in the Mayflower) .From our arrival when we were welcomed professionally and courteously by the Manager it was obvious we were in for a " experience " not just a meal.
Our lovely server Karoly, from Hungary, could not do enough for us and every request we made was met with a smile and met within a few seconds - all queries were dealt with with minimum delay and no question was too much - my husband is a vegetarian and no request or question with regards to the ingredients was too much trouble - an alternative was always available - such a refreshing change from so many restaurants where , in my husband's own words, " I am a second class citizen" - at Ovation this nothing was further from this - in fact during most courses of the meal I think my husband may have had the better option!
It was very apparent to my husband and I that Karoly considered working at Ovation to be his profession and not just a "job" - he contributed quiet, unobtrusively and efficiently to the success of our meal - I have written to the Chief executive to commend Ovation and in particularly Karoly . If I could I would award this restaurant five gold Stars
