From the outside this place looks more like a very small sailors pub, used when shore leave means only a quick run to the nearest gin house. Inside is a whole different ball game. The bar is minute. The only reason this eatery gets only four stars instead of five, because the restaurant opens up into an much bigger atmospheric ambience with character in shed loads. The staff work hard for their tip and by 8pm the whole place is buzzin, including pleasant live background music. Now for the food. This is more than a hot dog as is the price but worth it. We enjoyed our celebratory meal very much and recommend it as one of the best places to eat in Southsea.
