I first ate here about 28 years ago and haven't been back for over 25 years so we were looking forward to celebrating my husband's birthday here as a small family group. The restaurant is small but has a pleasant atmosphere. There is free on street parking nearby. I remember the decor in the ladies loo being spectacular years ago so was disappointed at how bland it now was and very strange that the door into it is propped open... However back to the food... Some nice touches such as free appetisers which were small but good. The scallop starter was very good, nicely presented and tasted good. The sea bass was excellent as was apparently the steak. Very nice desserts. Comprehensive wine list with several available by the glass plus 2 dessert wines available by the glass. Several of the items we choose such as the scallop starter and the steak had a supplement on top of the £39.50 for 3 courses menu and coffee and petit four are extra as is any service charge / tip you choose to leave so overall I thought the total cost was too much for the quality of the food, service and ambience. It was good but there are better places locally for less money.
