Without a doubt the finest views of Portsmouth bar none. This most impressive structure ,which may be seen for miles around, is definitely not for the faint hearted, or those with an aversion to heights. The platforms are on two levels as I recall, The first level being pretty spectacular, but the top level being quite stunning. The views, which take in the wonderful docks, are a delight to anybody who feels stirred by the sight of warships, with panoramic views as far as the eye can see. As an added attraction for the bolder spirits, there is the " walk of faith " across the clear glass floor, a brilliant experience. Definitely a not to be missed attraction.

Well what can I say, yes it's a good view from the top and yes it's well kept but at this price! book online if you are going and save 15% off the walk in price, be ready to part with cash for a quick view though! it started off as being the millennium tower however when in 2003 they had not completed it Portsmouth city council realized that they had just got in there to late to be built by 2000 !!! they changed the name to spinnaker instead, they do have good idea's after all ! perhaps the MP for Portsmouth was to busy doing "other" things at this point in time as recent news suggests.
Be warned that after they had built the tower they did realize that they had used the wrong cement (this is true not a joke) and that it would de-grade quicker in the rain than it should, now..........i am not sure if they changed it but time will tell, get there quick or it might fall!!!

Thank you for taking the time to leave these comments. It’s disappointing that the tower was not completed in time for the millennium because, as you say, it started out as a millennium project. However, since opening, the Spinnaker Tower has proved to be a positive addition to the city, establishing itself as an iconic landmark of the south coast, instantly recognisable and enjoyed by millions since 2005. The price is set based on a number of factors and is in line with similar attractions in the UK as well as attractions in the local area. As you mention, there is a 15% online discount available and we also issue a Passport to Portsmouth to all our guests, which includes a number of offers and discounts on local attractions, restaurants and transport providers.

We would like to respond particularly to your comments about the cement. There is no evidence to suggest that the tower would ‘degrade quicker in the rain’ – rest assured, the tower is not going anywhere! Thank you again for your comments.
