Superb weekend spent at the Ferry House Lodge. The new owners have completed a total refurbishment so it was very fresh and clean whilst being welcoming. The rooms are cosy but have everything in them that is needed for a comfortable stay and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful, a choice of pastries, cereals, fresh fruit and a cooked breakfast which was totally amazing.
Our weekend was to shop and take a trip down memory lane and the Ferry House Lodge was situated ideally for this, it is just a 10 minute walk from the city centre and approx. 20 minutes from the historic dockyard and Gunwharf Quay. The ferry port is opposite so the Ferry House Lodge is very convenient for an overnight stay. We would like to return to Portsmouth again soon and we both agreed we would definitely stay at the Ferry House Lodge.

We have just spent two nights at the Ferry House Lodge and we can say that from the moment you arrive the staff are very friendly and helpful. The whole place was very clean, and has been beautifully refurbished. It is very easy to find and we liked the fact that there is plenty of off road parking right out side. The Lodge is close to a main road but there is no traffic noise. The breakfast was outstanding and freshly cooked. The location is ideal for the shopping centre, Gunwharf shops and Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. If we returned back to Portsmouth we would certainly stay here again. We would recommend this place.

Very friendly run recently refurbished B&B/Hotel. Ideal place to get to most of Portsmouth's sites. ie Shopping at Gunwharf, Historic Dockyard with the Maryrose,Victory and HMS Warrior. Main town centre and ferry links to the continent. It is idealy placed at the end of the main motorway and easy to find with lots of off road parking. Very clean and tidy with helpful staff. Breakfast's where terrific and a great choice to start your day. I couldn't fault it and if i'm down in the area again it will be my first port of call. A1 with 5 stars.

We were given a very friendly welcome by the lady on reception, checked in then went to our room. We had booked a standard double room and were very surprised at the quality of the room and indeed the hotel as a whole. I understand it is undergoing refurbishment and have to say that it has all been done very tastefully and to a very high standard. The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of tea and coffee in the room. I was concerned that there would be some traffic noise from the adjacent main road but you wouldn't know it was there and we had a good night's sleep. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We both had the full English which was as good as you can get anywhere especially the scrambled eggs which were properly freshly cooked, not just stuck in a microwave for five minutes.

If we are in Portsmouth again we would definitely stay here again and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. All in all, well done Ferry House Lodge. You made our short stay very special indeed.

We stayed at the Ferry House Lodge as a stop before going on a driving tour of Europe, and liked it so much we arranged to go back on our way back through. The welcome was fantastic and the owners and staff could not have been more pleasant helpful and gracious. I would recommend a stay here, without hesitation, to anyone going through Portsmouth, and even as a holiday base to stay at. We will definitely be back, and for a longer stay. I can be quite picky, and it takes perfection for me to go to the trouble of writing a review. I could find no fault with the Ferry House. In fact the stay was above and beyond anything I would hope to expect.

Room Tip: As this was our first visit, it's hard to say, but, from what we experienced they would all be g...

Heard about this new b&b from the white horse and couldnt resist checking it out!
walked in to a warm welcome! the staff were more than happy to help and upgraded us to one of their premium doubles, was great to have a big bath to get into after being in the cold christmas shopping! loved the fury throw on the bed, plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits! its like a sanctuary!
