I held a sparse knowledge of Nelson & Victory from my long ago school days.
In the course of 1 spellbinding hour our guide, Chris informed us in detail- at times gruesome on the life & goings on of the captain & life aboard. I thoroughly recommend the tours for all.
It is a beautifully kept ship & not to be missed when visiting Portsmouth

I've rated a star less as It's not quite the same majestic ship without its masts!! We took the guided tour with a young lady as our guide. She was very informative and to the point which I like. Despite the guide telling the group no flash photography there were a couple of people who rather annoyingly thought it didn't apply to them!!
It's a peek into what life was like on board for those brave men! It's cramped in places, dark, narrow, very steep steps and trip hazards!! A practical ship built in a time before Health and safety!! :-) it all adds to the overall experience! Worth a visit.

We took the guided tour but were disappointed when the guide began with 'please no questions until the end' which was a shame as there were many questions to ask about as we saw them.
Parts of the ship were unavailable as the electrics were out for a while and due to refurbishment the tallest masts had been reduced. nevertheless it was worth the visit.

Whilst visiting the historic dockyard we decided we could not miss taking in this magnificent ship. It is in a dry dock and when you board it is like stepping back in time!

The attention to detail and relics make you feel you are back in Nelson's time. We benefitted from a guided tour with Dave (obviously loved his job and gave a great tour!). The tour took and hour , but to wander around and admire the ship was just fantastic.

Well worth a visit - a must!

Fantastic ship for the mobile but what about wheelchair users? It would be nice to see one of the many (and prefarbly happy) guides with some replica artefacts at the accessible level to discuss and allow to handle. Lets all share the wonderful treasure!
