A great theatre, we went to see Joseph and had great time ! Only down side was the cost of ice creams a tad expensive.

“A step back in time!”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

Went ot see Joseph on Saturday evening and a very good performance it was too!
The theatre is most definately a blast from the past, but I like this style. Staff were friendly and engaging. Ice cream at the interval was a little on the expensive side for the quality, but not a major problem. I will definately return in the future.
Good job Kings Theatre.... Keep up the good work.

“Steeped in history”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

This is a great example of a Edwardian Theatre in Southsea. Ornate design, preserved in part by volunteers and grants.

The theatre manages to attract the odd production from the West End namely Dreamboats & Petticoats and Joseph, as well as some of the UK's biggest stand up comedians.

Just remember that the theatre was built for those of the time, so hasn't lost it's character.

Peter Sellers made his stage debut here at just two weeks old and the building has played host to the greats including Ivor Novello.

If you want to experience an original theatre of old with performances from new then give the Kings Theatre a try.
