My partner and I saw the opera Carmen at this magnificent theatre. It really is a joy to behold and inside, the architecture is just stunning. There are several bars in the twisty corridors and the toilets are lovely and clean. The staff appear proud of their theatre and all were happy, helpful and friendly. We were in the upper circle in row B and this was the only problem we found. My partner isn't that tall and as the seats are unusually high, her feet couldn't touch the floor! Whereas I am average height and found the legroom very tight. We tried seats in row A when the show was finished and the legroom was even worse. But even that didn't take away the enjoyment of this beautiful venue.
Although on street parking is free in most areas close to the 'Kings', please allow PLENTY of time for parking, as spaces are very hard to find. You will probably end up with a 10-15 minute walk back to the theatre once you have parked.

Thank Doug A

This is a great local venue. They have shows to suit all tastes and it is so full of history it would be a great shame if it were ever to close

The theatre is a lovely place to watch shows. Parking is a bit of a nightmare, but there is plenty in the vicinity. Prices no different than other theatres and I am looking forward to seeing some old friends in "Beyond the Barricade" in May. Not long now David and Andy. Well worth going to when your favourite show is on.

Last went to the Kings to see Jethro, but go 3 or 4 times a year for various shows or live music. Acoustics are excellent for both. A lovely old building with a few tales to tell. It was built at a time when there was no traffic, but parking is available 10 minutes or so walk away, but you're better off leaving the car at home as there is a variety of eating and drinking places nearby, with taxis and buses easily available.
