A short but very comfortable and relaxing stay with Eileen. Everything is of a very high standard - the breakfast, bedding, towels and the spacious room. Nothing was too much trouble for Eileen who is committed to her guests. The B&B is in a lovely residential area, a short walk to local shops and restaurants and barely 5 minutes to the Portsmouth promenade and its wonderful pebbly beach.

Thank you Eileen, we had a wonderful stay - Just wished we had more time! Best wishes to you and your continuing success with Sea-la-vie.

I've been staying at Sea la Vie as a business customer for several months. I have enjoyed my stays so much I decided to bring my whole family down for a weekend .. yes of course the local attractions of the Mary Rose museum, Gunwharf Quays outlet shopping and HMS Victory are fabulous but one of the REAL treasures of the areas is not on any tourist map. she is called Eileen and she's the hostess with the mostest at Sea la Vie : Her own unique brand of service, charm and humour are reflected in the quality and memorable style of her home. Its like staying with a long lost friend who just cant do enough for you. Breakfasts went down a treat too.

Room Tip: you cant go wrong. they are all nice but if you are very tall, maybe avoid Aqua ..

Room Tip: i was a big fan of the Aqua room, but all of them are fab!

Have just got back from Sea- la- vie. My husband and I throughly enjoyed our visit. Eileen is a very welcoming hostess. Nothing is too much trouble for her if it helps her guests. The house and bedrooms were spotless. Towels for the bathroom were plentiful and beautifully soft. We parked our car outside the property and didn`t use it for three days. Eileen told us the best bus routes to take, and good places to have an evening meal. The beds where so comfortable I could quite easily have slept in, also we live in a very rural area so car noise would normally keep us awake, but here we slept with the windows open. Breakfast was well worth getting up for.Good choice and plentiful. Please keep up the pancakes they were delicious, and a great size. In our experience, very rare to find a place that can be clean, warm, friendly and welcoming and do a good breakfast, that sets you up for the day.

We enjoyed our recent two night stay at Sea-la-vie. Eileen is a vibrant, exuberant and welcoming hostess. Our young waiter, Laurence, was earnest and hard-working. He is an outstanding addition to the team. The location was great for long walks along the harbor and an easy bus ride to the Historic Docks. We easily found parking right across the street and a parking permit was provided at at check-in. There are many local restaurants nearby. The room, number four, was cozy and we found the bed & linens to be extremely comfortable. The pancakes are to die for! We enjoying the fresh (still hot from the oven!) soda bread as well. Thanks for a wonderful stay. We would happily come again.

A unique B&B situated in a quiet road with the seafront, shops & bus stops nearby. Eileen is a friendly, obliging, amusing, larger than life kind of person with a terrific singing voice. Breakfast was very tasty and the home-made soda bread was delicious. I recommend you book in a.s.a.p. and experience it for yourselves!

Stayed for two nights beginning of May 2013. Eileen is the most gracious and warm host. We were immediately made to feel part of the family. Definitely a comeback stay is in order, the longer the better. Location could not be better, just a few steps to the boardwalk. Bus nearby takes you straight to downtown Portsmouth. Ask about the pizza around the corner!
