Owner description: Featuring the Mary Rose Museum and world famous ships HMS Victory and HMS Warrior 1860. Plus visit HMS Alliance, the only remaining WW2 era British ocean going submarine, and the M33, the sole remaining British veteran of the bloody Dardanelles Campaign of 1915-1916. Also including the National Museum Royal Navy Portsmouth, Action Stations and the Harbour Tours, as well as the new Women in the Navy Exhibition and the Jutland Exhibition, there's plenty to see and do. Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is a great day out for all the family. Situated within a working Naval Base, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is the only place in the world to see the Royal Navy past, present and future - a must see for anyone visiting the south of England.

Incredible collection of naval and maritime stuff (including whole ships) housed in a real working dockyard - you can see the Navy's latest warships moored a few hundred yards away whilst walking through Georgian Boathouses to Nelson's flagship and the even older Mary Rose, houses in her state of the art modern display area. Plenty of good food available and when you can't walk any more you can sit on a boat for a Harbour Tour. There is something for every age and it's just a stroll from the Harbour railway station and Bus terminus; so you needn't bother with a car at all.

Although it could be said this was an expensive day out for a family of 5, we managed to do and see so much and with the chance to return any time, we did get our money's worth out of it. Was a privilege to walk on decks where many a man has more than 500 years ago!!! Interesting for us and our 3 teenage children, especially enjoyed the harbour tour despite not being able to book a time now and chancing whether you can get on it or not, we were lucky and did and it was worth the 40 minute ride to hear about the boats, history etc. Indoor activities to keep the children amused. Staff were all lovely and helpful, would recommend this for a great day out.

There's so much to see it's a good thing that the ticket is valid for unlimited visits for a year. Everything is interesting. The new Mary Rose exhibition is brilliantly displayed, HMS Victory endlessly fascinating, Warrior and the other museums well worth visiting, and there are plenty of places to relax and have refreshments.
