We had a fantastic day out at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard celebrating our 10 year old son's birthday! Lovely to find somewhere that caters for slightly older children - so much to interest them, we just didn't have enough time! They all want to come back. The staff were very helpful and friendly - would thoroughly recommend especially to families with slightly older children - our boys just loved it!

Buy a family ticket for great value for money, and one years free unlimited entries to the site. Lots of information and history of our navy. Good for all the family (not just the boys). Do the harbour trip early, avoid from 13:00 onwards if you can. Look forward to going again.

It seemed expensive when first booking the tickets but was a fabulous day out. Myself & 3 children aged 7, 8 and 10. It was about £50 for 4 of us - the kids loved the Action Stations area which had a helicopter simulator ride and a climbing wall. I loved the "Les Miserables" costume exhibition. The Harbour Tour was great but you need to be on the Right Hand Side of the boat to get the best view relating to the commentary. There was a great undercover picnic area and plenty of toilets. The Warrior & Victory Ships were fascinating and the museums were spacious, well-lit and accessible to children and adults alike with plenty of interactive exhibits and helpful staff.

This is a place to take children. They love looking down the sites of the canon and they can still walk around without banging their heads on the ceiling. Remember in the old days, people were shorter.

Wow, we bought a ticket for all attractions and then we found out that it is valid for a whole year for certain attractions. The Harbour trip and HMS Victory are only for 1 use, Still amazing value for money. Battle stations was my favourite, with the chance to fly a helicopter in the simulator, and shoot down enemy aircraft and missiles.
I had a huge school girl grin on my face from the start to the finish of a wonderfully enjoyable day.
