The place has a run down feel to it and has no redeeming features. The views across the Solent are great, but the place lacks any appeal whatsoever. Its a 'love it' or 'hate it' kind of place.

the smell around this area is awful, the whole area needs some TLC the pier is run down, so is the fair, and all the places around it. Pompey Council should really do something about this, it attracts alot of people and the facilites so poor.

Clarence pier is full of everything you would expect if you wanted to go to a typical British seaside. Shabby but with an ok fairground and a few good rides. Crazy golf, amusement machines, chips, burgers, litter, old chart music from the 80's, penny slots, and the worst souvenirs. I still go all the time as great people watching and despite all it's faults it's fun in a so bad it's good way and it's location is great being on the beach and next to the hovercraft and in the other direction on the way to Old Portsmouth. The main reason I like it is because you can actually enjoy it without spending a penny there.

Dull and boring, tired and dated. Its so far behind the times it's untrue and there is no sign that there is an appetite to improve it

There's a nice enough cafe, Coffee Cup, in the pier building, but aside from that and the 2p machines in the arcade there isn't much to Clarence Pier.
It's rundown and tacky, but I guess shows a last remnant of a lost time.
Kids might enjoy the rides though.
